We had another amazing stay. This house is perfectly set up. The views, dock, outdoor dining- it was all awesome! Three generations with plenty of room for everyone. Comfortable beds and linens, well equipped kitchen. We will be back!
This is a fantastic place! Beautiful view of Walloon Lake. If you like to hike or mountain bike, this is great, since there trails close enough to walk or bike to. The owner of the property is very accessible and quickly answers any questions you have. We cook and grill are own meals and the place is very well equipped for this. There are great indoor and outdoor family gathering spaces. I would definitely recommend this place
Fantastic stay in a wonderful lakefront house. Beautiful view of lake. There is a beach, dock, and crystal clear lake water. Super clean, well appointed, very friendly and responsive hosts. The house will sleep many people but we were just a party of two so .. we didn’t even venture upstairs. I highly recommend.
Great property in a great location. My family and I had an amazing trip and look forward to staying here again next year! David and Laurie are great hosts and very responsive.
Our family (8 adults and 2 children) had a perfect extended weekend, along with our dogs. David and Laurie’s home was both comfortable and beautiful. They were wonderful hosts! We cannot wait to return next year!
Beautiful setting with gorgeous views of Walloon Lake. The house is very well appointed and David was wonderful to work with and very responsive. We would definitely return!
We rented this home and the neighboring property for a golf centric trip. Both homes are fantastic. The amenities are wonderful and the lake views from each home are spectacular. For what it’s worth, there are multiple golf options. We would definitely rent these properties again.
Overall this was an A+ experience - the owners/hosts were very responsive and helpful. The property is amazing - beautiful view, great location in terms of getting to Boyne, Charlevoix, etc... We had a wonderful time and look forward to a return visit. Thanks David for making everything fantastic!
This is an outstanding property. We had a wonderful week. There was plenty of room to spare with a group of 8. Incredible deck and dock. This was our first time on Walloon and it was extremely peaceful and quiet with little traffic on the water. Thanks for being so hospitable, David.
There are no words to express our most amazing week on Walloon Lake in our rental, Stairway to Heaven! Beyond all of our expectations in cleanliness, comfort and conveniences. My grandchildren (8-10 years) spent hours being towed behind the pontoon. Thanks David and Laurie for your great listing
We enjoyed our stay at this house. The property listing and pictures were accurate. The house was very clean upon arrival.
The layout was perfect for our group of 9, with plenty of separate spaces for the kids to hang out. We used the boat; dock and paddle boards daily.
David was a great host, showing up on the first day to talk through boating procedures. We also had a scenario where the power went out one night, and the generator turned on without issue, so we never missed a beat.
Thank you for a great stay!
Property certainly lived up to its photos and description! Absolutely wonderful house on Walloon for family and/or friends. And dog. Two living rooms each with plenty of seating and a TV. Deck, waterfront and dock also have ample seating. Well appointed kitchen and grill to cater to the entire posse. Table area is a bit tight when you add the folding chairs, though there are dining tables on the deck and at the beach, so weather permitting, folks can spread out. Note stairs down to house from parking and down to waterfront and dock, for anyone with mobility challenges. Great, responsive and attentive owner. Everyone loved the property and boat!

Beautiful Setting and well appointed
Secluded beautiful seting and deck. Main floor has two nice size sitting area with comfortable furniture. Nice, well stocked kitchen.
Two nice size bedrooms on the first floor and one small funk room. Nicely remodeled bathrooms. Upstairs bedrooms not as adequate. You have to go through one to get to the other. The upstairs bathroom had terible water pressure. This area was also difficult to heat and cool .
We used the nice gas grill and the fireplace. The advertised hot tub didn't have any water.
Our biggest compliant was the property was no well cleaned. We found food under furniture in the two sitting rooms, one bathroom trash can was full. Addiionally, the master bathroom was dirty, shower doors scumy, mirrors spotted with what looked like toothpaste. Our upstairs guests found a half empty bottle under the bed. Also, there were only three washcloths in the whole house and a very limited number of hand towells.
This property has great potential, but the cleanliness was not up to our standards.

Response from VrboOwner on 15 Oct 2021
The feedback on the cleanliness of the house is extremely troubling to me. We've been Vrbo hosts since 2012 and have always placed extreme importance on the house being spotless for arriving guests. I've taken this feedback directly to the head of the cleaning company that prepares the property for incoming guests. She is equally upset by the review and has guaranteed me this won't happen again.
The hot tub has not been included in our Vrbo listing description as it is new and we wanted to see how it worked prior to advertising it. Any reference to it was via reviews of prior guests who were able to use it during the trial period. With all the trees overhead, it has proven difficult to keep clean this fall. I had to drain a few days prior to Brenda's arrival it to clean it ... I will re-fill it once the leaves are off the trees. I've updated our listing description to state the hot tub will only be available certain times of the year. I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
Thanks for the feedback on the shower head and the diminishing supply of hand towels and wash cloths. We'll take care of them immediately.
David and Laurie’s place was just what we wanted for our family vacation. The view and amenities can’t be beat. They had everything imaginable and than some. We were there for 3 nights never leaving the property and we’re never bored. Will definitely will be back again next year to see the change of colors in our beautiful state of Michigan! David was easy to get ahold of with the few questions we had. Great hosts.
Our Family had a wonderful trip. The house was perfect for 3 married couples. We all had plenty of space, the house was clean and inviting and the lake was spectacular. David was easy to reach and helpful throughout our stay. Renting the boat was an added bonus and well worth the expense.
Lovely home for friends and family; This house had everything you need to relax and enjoy the beauty of Northern Michigan. Also perfect for remote work if necessary. It is ideally located near vineyards, restaurants, and biking/hiking trails. The owner is very responsive to needs and we would definitely stay here again.
This home is in a beautiful and quiet setting on Walloon Lake. Well furnished, new baths, lots of space for relaxation, great views from the deck and dock, many amenities, and although it seems remote, the home is quite close to Boyne City and a short, very scenic drive to Petoskey. The owner is exceptionally helpful and communicative.
What a great property! The house sits on a bluff overlooking Walloon Lake and the views you have to see to believe! The house had plenty of space and was well stocked for our Thanksgiving stay. The bathrooms have been updated and the hot tub was a big hit for the kids. The house also was very clean on arrival and well maintained. If you are looking for an authentic Northern Michigan getaway you cannot go wrong staying here!
Lovely wooded, well appointed home with beautiful views of Lake Walloon. Private and secluded, yet close enough to Boyne City for convenience. Tom was responsive and gave precise directions. Planning to visit again!
There were five couples that enjoyed a weekend up north. The home had plenty of space for everyone. The bunk room was a bit inconvenient, but we made do. The kitchen is large and spacious with room for all to enjoy activities together. The views are amazing, and the steps down to the lake are a nice bonus. The walk back up will help you get your cardio in for the day!
We would definitely look this place up on a future visit to the area!

About the host
Hosted by David Graham
Laurie and David met and were married around the lakes in Minneapolis, and moved to Michigan after David finished grad school in New York. Moving to Michigan was like a homecoming for David who went to the University of Michigan for undergrad. Laurie quickly adjusted to the Michigan lifestyle. With their four kids and extended family, this property continues to provide very special opportunities to bond and share quality time together.
Why they chose this property
We have enjoyed year-round Up North activities for our entire time raising our four children in Michigan -- boating, skiing/snowboarding, golfing, snowmobiling. We've always been attracted to the lakes with Caribbean blue water. Walloon was a perfect match for us in all regards. When you add in its close proximity to Petoskey, Charlevoix, and Boyne City, who could ask for anything more?
What makes this property unique
After driving just over a mile through a 'tunnel of trees' along side the West Arm of Walloon, you complete the journey going up a gradually sloping hill. Before even getting out of the car in the driveway, you are taken away by the view of the lake, with its turquoise water and the thick green shoreline on the opposite side of the lake.
The upper deck and shoreline deck make great spaces for enjoying the views and sharing time with family and friends, but it is the mid-deck, built around a massive Cedar, that has just incredible, unique character.
The interior, with its ample but not overpowering use of knotty pine, is a perfect balance of classic 'up-north' and modern. Windows are the main construction element facing the lake - four of bedrooms have amazing lake views as well as all the living areas.
