About this property
Walloon Lake Randall's Point - At the End of the Path
RESERVATIONS FOR 2025 WILL OPEN OCTOBER 1, 2024. The southernmost home in the Randalls’ Point private compound, this property has been in our family for five generations. At the end of a 7/10 of a mile driveway that winds through our woods, you will find almost 300 feet of very private lake frontage. Originally a “kit” house built in the 1970’s, it got a major expansion and renovation in 2001. Specifically designed to house multiple families at the same time, the log cabin can sleep 14-16 in beds. The first floor ‘master suite’ (4 steps up to get into the home) is a completely self-contained apartment with a separate entrance, lake view, stone fireplace, full kitchen with gas stove, king bed, separate bedroom with twin bunks, double vanity en suite bath, shower and claw foot tub. Washer & dryer are just outside the apartment.
The rest of the main level has walls of windows on three sides, overlooking the lake just 25 feet away. Cabin features: Stone fireplace (see if you can find the hidden Petoskey Stones); Round game table; Large dining table (originally in the Randall’s Point Mess Hall) that seats 10+; Mudroom and a main laundry room with an additional washer & dryer. Spacious chef’s kitchen can easily house seven cooks at a time. Stainless appliances including JennAir six-burner gas stove plus griddle, double ovens, warming drawer, microwave, and silent Bosch dishwasher. Granite island was selected to compliment the wooded environment. Lots of pantry storage. All cookware, silverware, dishes and glasses are provided.
Up the hand crafted log staircase are three additional bedrooms and baths with connecting doors. Both king bedded en suites at the north and south ends of the cabin open to the bunk room also with its own private bath. There are two sets of log bunks - twins on the top and doubles on the bottom.
A covered porch overlooks the lake with cedar furniture and swing, picnic table and large gas grill. Flat rock steps lead down to the beach with fire pit and small dock with canoe. (Paddles provided, but life-preservers are not.) Rinse-off shower on the stone steps. New play structure can also be monitored from the comfort of the porch. Hammock in a restful wooded area next to the lake and lilac garden with different varieties blooming through June. Hiking trails wind through the woods, all the way out to Shadow Trails Road. Second larger dock for your boats and lounging. Additional features: All king beds are Tempurpedic; Weekly cleaning included; Bed and bath linens are professionally laundered each week; Solid core doors muffle the noise from a large group. Also provided: Paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissue, Ivory bath soap, laundry detergent, dish detergent, blow dryers, iron and ironing board, firewood and selection of games.
Come see the fall colors! Book now for your dream Up North vacation.
