Walloon Lake Randall's Point - At the End of the Path
RESERVATIONS FOR 2025 WILL OPEN OCTOBER 1, 2024. The southernmost home in the Randalls’ Point private compound, this property has been in our family for five generations. At the end of a 7/10 of a mile driveway that winds through our woods, you will find almost 300 feet of very private lake frontage. Originally a “kit” house built in the 1970’s, it got a major expansion and renovation in 2001. Specifically designed to house multiple families at the same time, the log cabin can sleep 14-16 in beds. The first floor ‘master suite’ (4 steps up to get into the home) is a completely self-contained apartment with a separate entrance, lake view, stone fireplace, full kitchen with gas stove, king bed, separate bedroom with twin bunks, double vanity en suite bath, shower and claw foot tub. Washer & dryer are just outside the apartment.
The rest of the main level has walls of windows on three sides, overlooking the lake just 25 feet away. Cabin features: Stone fireplace (see if you can find the hidden Petoskey Stones); Round game table; Large dining table (originally in the Randall’s Point Mess Hall) that seats 10+; Mudroom and a main laundry room with an additional washer & dryer. Spacious chef’s kitchen can easily house seven cooks at a time. Stainless appliances including JennAir six-burner gas stove plus griddle, double ovens, warming drawer, microwave, and silent Bosch dishwasher. Granite island was selected to compliment the wooded environment. Lots of pantry storage. All cookware, silverware, dishes and glasses are provided.
Up the hand crafted log staircase are three additional bedrooms and baths with connecting doors. Both king bedded en suites at the north and south ends of the cabin open to the bunk room also with its own private bath. There are two sets of log bunks - twins on the top and doubles on the bottom.
A covered porch overlooks the lake with cedar furniture and swing, picnic table and large gas grill. Flat rock steps lead down to the beach with fire pit and small dock with canoe. (Paddles provided, but life-preservers are not.) Rinse-off shower on the stone steps. New play structure can also be monitored from the comfort of the porch. Hammock in a restful wooded area next to the lake and lilac garden with different varieties blooming through June. Hiking trails wind through the woods, all the way out to Shadow Trails Road. Second larger dock for your boats and lounging. Additional features: All king beds are Tempurpedic; Weekly cleaning included; Bed and bath linens are professionally laundered each week; Solid core doors muffle the noise from a large group. Also provided: Paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissue, Ivory bath soap, laundry detergent, dish detergent, blow dryers, iron and ironing board, firewood and selection of games.

Our extended family stayed at this cottage for a week in June. It was a perfect place for our family. It was spotless and the kitchen was wonderful for big family meals. We will definitely rent again
Our annual family trip to Walloon was so very special this year because of this magical place. The cleanliness and organization of the kitchen was amazing for the cooks in the group. The beds were comfy and the layout ideal. But the best thing of all was the view and location. We hope to come back next year!

We are a family of 9 and this home was beautiful big and spacious ! Not to mention a cooks kitchen with all the things you need to cook your your heart out. Loved the location! 5 minutes to the village of Walloon and 15 minutes to Boyne City. We would definitely rent this home again!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Randall's Point. The property was impeccably clean and well maintained. The home has a beautiful, classic design but includes all the modern amenities and appliances. It was comfortable and easy. There was some concern about swimmer's itch but no one in our party experienced it. The owner and property manager communicated effectively before and during our stay - and Tim, the property manager, checked in on us periodically. We would absolutely stay here again.
Randall Pt. was a wonderful family experience for all. The kids had access to water fun, a play fort, soccer, indoor games and puzzles. Easy boat docking for rented boat for tubing and just relaxing rides around beautiful Walloon. Excellent kitchen for family meals.
My star rating says everything. But with limited summer weeks in MI, I don’t need the competition for booking this place!!! But the home and the owner are wonderful.
Our group has stayed at many different cottages on walloon lake over the last 5 years. This cottage was by far the best for many reasons! The layout for multiple families is wonderful and the functional space of the cottage is huge. The kitchen has every cooking gadget and is well organized which made cooking for our large group a breeze. The kids loved the side yard with play structure and the awesome sandy bottom lake front. This cottage is also a great location on the lake, easy to take the boat or car into town!

Thanks Jessica. We loved having you! And so happy you all enjoyed our magical spot as much as we do.
The Cottage exceeded all expectations by far! House was absolutely spotless. The kitchen in the main house was stocked with everything any cook would need. Also all drawers, light switches etc were labeled which was so helpful.
We loved our stay! Our only issue was the oven in the attached apartment had black duct tape over the controls so we did not use, but not a huge issue for us.
This Cottage and Walloon are beyond compare. Both were Perfect!

We loved having you!
Funny about the duct tape over the oven controls . . . I put that there because the green time light keeps me awake. Oven works fine. Looks like I need another label.
We, family & friends, had the pleasure of staying here last week and I must say, it was an absolutely incredible experience. The views are stunning and the atmosphere peaceful.
The property itself was immaculate. The interior was beautifully decorated and cozy. The kitchen was huge with every imaginable thing you would need. Beds were numerous and comfortable.
The property also has two private docks (one to accommodate a boat), a private beach with a fire pit and an awesome porch to take in the views.
The onsite property manager, Tim, was great responding to any message/question/request immediately. In addition Deb, our host, was also timely and helpful. Lots of area recommendations and info was nicely put together as well.
Overall, I cannot recommend this home enough. It exceeded all of our expectations and provided the perfect setting for a relaxing and memorable vacation.
We can't wait to return and experience it all over again.
Spacious and thoughtfully furnished log house. Everything we could have wanted or needed was provided and we immediately felt welcomed. Comfortable bedrooms with beautiful quilts, plenty of logs for the huge fireplace, fully equipped kitchen with sparkling appliances. Information on local restaurants and activities. Outdoor playset for the children and a canoe with paddles. Fall color was lovely and when a storm knocked out the power a generator kicked in. The on site property manager was friendly and helpful. We are grateful for the opportunity to have been in this historic house for a few days.
Perfect for large family gatherings. Spotless interior. Beautiful grounds. Fabulous view of the lake from front porch. Ever detail meticulously addressed. The owners' know what you need and produce it. Dock large enough to hold a large boat. Sandy swimming area.
We’ve been fortunate to stay in many wonderful places. This has to be #1 for our crew. If we could give a higher star than 5 we would! Perfect place for family with several generations. Kitchen is unbelievable! Great Lake views. And the kids loved the fire pit and playground. Excellent and helpful communication with the property manager. Immaculate. Hope to go back again.
Property was cleanly, well stocked, and superior quality (except stove top in main kitchen which needs some repair). We loved the south arm location , beach front, jungle gym, and fire pit. More specific directions into the property would be helpful, as last minute GPS changes/information were needed from owner. Dock was adequate for stowing 2 boats and sandy bottom a plus. Overall, very comfortable for all! We love Walloon!
We've stayed at many cottages on Walloon Lake in the past 30+ years. As our family has grown, so has our need for space. This Randall's Point lake house not only met our needs, but also exceeded our every expectation. It provided a beautifully organized, updated kitchen and spacious dining area, a small beach and playground for children, a sturdy dock for our boat, and a great bedroom arrangement. Most importantly, it was meticulously clean. The owners are caring, communicative and clearly take pride in their investment. Best. Vacation. Ever.
