Pet friendly cottage was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the outside campfire. Relaxing place for our dalmatian puppy with a secure fenced area for her to play. Host was helpful with our questions.
Nice, quiet area while close to Houghton Lake and essentials. We had one hiccup with the dock not being in the water but we made it work (wasn't the fault of the owner, but the company that was paid to place the dock). Dock should be in now. Easily housed 2 adults, 4 teens. Would stay again.

Cute little house. Should probley get a better cleaning service . The property owners were very nice when i emailed them . We'd probably stay again but we'd bring cleaning stuff.
Accuracy of the listing was great. The house was appropriately stocked for a small family (3-4). Clean and affordable, world definitely return! Host was very responsive.
Very spacious. Nice layout. No personal care items. There is a dog crate in bedroom closet with bunch of pee pads. That's disconcerting. Plenty of parking . Lots of movies.
This was a cute little cozy cabin. It did smell like smoke upon arrival. Also counters and stove was dirty. Other than that everything was accurate in listing.
Preplanned trip before snow prediction. 2 couples have cottages in neighborhood but both were winterized so we decided to rent a house nearby. Rough travel going up but house was delightful. Clean and comfortable. Communication with owner was good. Easy entry. Would recommend. Plan on renting again.

Fun memories
No A/C unit was a disappointment but it was noted in description so can’t complain about that , location was good , not far from dollar general and boat ramp , description had said there was a dock to use but wasn’t up yet when we got there. But with 1 phone call to contact listed , they had the dock in the water the next day which was appreciated. All in all cabin had plenty of sleeping space , kitchen and table was also very roomy. We would consider staying in same place again in future , thanks

Hi Sally, we want everything to be ready for our guests when they arrive, so we take cleanliness concerns seriously. We're sorry your trip got off to a rocky start. The owners take pride in their property and are disappointed an unexpected issue arose before your stay. The owners are working with cleaning staff and have made recent updates to the home. This was a one-time incident and we are working to ensure future guests have 5-star stays!

Great for the price!
We were able to book this the night before (most places won't do less than 24 hour bookings) - clean cabin, walking distance to the water. Older dock available for your boat or jet skis (dock needs some maintenance). Basic house supplies are there (pots, dishes, utensils, sheets) but you need to bring serving bowls, garbage bags, bath and kitchen towels! There was a musty smell when we first arrived so we had to open up the entire house. No air conditioning but fans in most rooms. There is a charcoal grill to use and a fire pit in the yard. There is also a fenced in area so that would be nice for your pets.

Half ok
The place was a perfect size and deceiving on the outside. Plenty of beds and space for the family to sleep and hangout not being on top of each other like a hotel woul have been. The downfall was communication or the lack of it. When i messaged them about checking in late theyresponded with a checking out late email. I didn't get a code to get in until i called. This vrbo is ran by a company so its not very personal and difficult to talk to. They did have game and tv with roku but no internet. Definitely will not be staying here again or using vrbot receive a code to get in till i called them

Hi Valerie, we're glad to hear that the space was a good fit for your family, but we're sorry to learn that the communication didn't meet your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:-Our cottage is a place where our family vacations, so we take pride in ensuring that all our guests have an enjoyable experience.-We’ve confirmed that the listing clearly states that there is no internet available at the property.-We're sorry that your experience with our communication felt impersonal. We strive to provide a welcoming experience and appreciate your feedback to help us improve.Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Your feedback is valuable, and we’re sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet your expectations in this regard. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

Basic Large Cabin
This was a nice basic necessities cabin. Upon arriving it has spider webs/cob webs all along the celings and floors. There were dead bugs in the corners and black hairs behind doors. The floors weren't swept. The fridge and freezer were not cleaned either. There were a LOT of spider webs all over the outside of the house to (even blocking the door). To be honest I'd have a talking with the cleaning staff it looks like they are just taking the owners money. BUT outside of the cleanliness of this cabin I enjoyed my stay. The couches were comfy and the beds were nice the shower is beautiful and a nice large kitchen and back room. Plenty of seating. Bring your own sheets which we did anyways luckily because they had a funny smell. I did like we could pick our own heat for each room and the owner was quickly responsive when I asked for a late check out of noon he had no problem accomaditng, we went in October. The beds were nice and the kitchen table great for games. They do need a new kitchen sponge for their sink to wash dishes. And trashes for the bathrooms. Also had to pull the cushy floor mat in the bathroom back in order to shut or open the door. And the bathroom lights kept flickering might need a bulb change. And no they do not have WiFi as the listing already states but they do have Wiis to play, Board games, Croquet, DVDs and basic cable. If they get better cleaning practices all and all it was a nice cabin that I would recommend for an unplug weekend this winter IF the cleaning changed. Ps Went to the lake it is a short little walk and got a LOT of cool rocks!

Great little house
The house was very cute and cozy inside and it was convenient for our venue.
The lock to get in worked, but was very tricky to get out and return to the holder it was in. It would’ve been nice to have some hand towels or dish towels for washing dishes, and an available broom or vacuum to sweep up …. And we didn’t realize there was no Wi-Fi
Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
We rented this house for our daughter, son-in-law and our 2-year-old grandson who joined us for a weekend. We own a condo in Houghton Lake, so it was convenient to be nearby to provide towels, food, etc. Thrre was very limited communication with the owner. We enjoyed an evening bonfire (the owners supplied a bundle of firewood.)
