Overall, the home was clean, generally well maintained, well stocked, and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, the appliances worked well, and the lake views and landscaping were beautiful. Before check-in, however, the communication felt excessive: 6 calls, 3 voicemails, 3 emails, 8 platform messages, and 11 text messages, along with a required in-person property walkthrough before access. While we appreciate clear expectations, the process felt overwhelming. The property was also less secluded than expected. It sits on a major road with continuous traffic, and we observed shipping containers, several parked vehicles, an RV, and two nearby occupied homes, making the setting feel less private than the listing suggested.Interestingly, after a major storm with shelter-in-place recommendations and during an 8-hour internet outage, there was no proactive communication. That said, whenever we contacted the hosts by text or message, they responded immediately. The house was quite warm on arrival and took about 12 hours to cool, but once it did, it stayed comfortable. Guests with fragrance sensitivities should know there were more than 12 Glade plug-ins throughout the home.Overall, we enjoyed the home itself, but there were some misunderstandings between our expectations and the listing, particularly regarding privacy and the communication style.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’d like to clarify a couple of points to ensure accuracy. On communication, our priority is always to ensure clarity and preparedness before arrival. While the process may have felt extensive, it reflects our commitment to safeguarding both guests and the property. Because the property is so large and the land is so vast, we offer thorough guidance to make check-in seamless. According to Megan, her phone had technical issues at check-in. Furthermore, she ran more than two hours late. We didn’t know what was happening because we didn’t hear from her. We dedicated extra time to over-the-phone support to guide her successfully into the property and ensure her comfort. We are always glad to provide this level of care to assist our guests. On privacy, the listing notes the home’s location and surrounding area, though we understand expectations can differ. While the property is near a main road, many guests appreciate the convenience of access, and the landscaping was thoughtfully designed to create a sense of retreat, especially in the lower level and the rear of the property. Regarding the Wi-Fi outage, we reached out immediately after she notified us. Within a minute of her message, we contacted Spectrum and sent her an update. Later on, she let us know the Wi-Fi was working again. Because outages are beyond our control, we do our best to communicate promptly and keep guests informed. As for the vehicles and campers, they are located more than 250-300 feet from the house and patio area, in a designated parking section of the property. This space allows us to accommodate larger groups when needed. The campers are intentionally part of the property’s character, designed to create a campground/park-like atmosphere that many guests enjoy. Regarding the fragrance plug-ins, they are intended to keep the home fresh, but we recognize sensitivities vary and are happy to adjust upon request. We hope this helps clarify the experience we aim to provide, and we’re grateful you enjoyed the home overall.
