We enjoyed the rear screened deck right on the river. When we arrived, however, the door code did not work. Vacasa helped me after a while on hold. Their alternate codes didn’t work, but we got an actual key from a lockbox. Inside the cabin was clean and cute. However, there was what seemed like dog hairs in the sheets of one of the upstairs beds. The upstairs area was over 80 degrees. It took the entire evening to cool it down, and in order to keep it bearable, the downstairs had to be cooler than we liked.

Cozy river cabin

What a great find & amazing location, direct access off main highway and minutes from, Fun hiking trails, Lake Rabun, Clayton downtown & Tallulah Falls. Plenty of parking space for our 42’ RV & motorcycle trailer. Large porch with comfortable patio seating & Adirondack chairs directly on the River. We enjoyed smores while relaxing to the sound of the river and catching trout. The rooms were clean, beds are comfortable and best is 2 living areas with different TVs. We would recommend it and we will be back for our annual motorcycle trip.

Do not rent this place

This was a train wreck. We got a notification that we could check in early but when my in-laws got to the house the code didn’t work. I did get a call from someone trying to help us get in but did not have my phone with me so a voicemail was left. By the time I called my brother in law they were all in the property. I had rented the place for my 84 and 85 year old father and mother in law. And my brother in law and his daughter. Originally my sister in law and their dog were also coming but she got very sick and couldn’t come so the dog stayed home with her. We did appreciate that we got a refund for the dog fee. On first inspection the place seemed clean. They unloaded their coolers that were full of iced down food and left to come meet us. The air conditioner was working but no air was blowing out of the registers in the upstairs sleeping area and it was uncomfortably hot. The window had to be opened which is hard for my brother in law that has bad allergies. They were all in town attending my son’s wedding so they weren’t at the property Friday until that evening around 9:30 pm. Once again, the code was not working on the door. The upstairs was still hot. The next morning after showering upstairs my brother in law went downstairs and there was water dripping through the ceiling onto their food on the kitchen counter. The ceiling was wet and there was a visible stain on the ceiling. The freezer was working but the refrigerator was warm Saturday morning. The milk had gone bad and they had to throw out the food they had brought including five pounds of chicken salad my 84 year old mother in law had made. There was no outdoor trash can. They reached out to Vacasa and were told a maintenance person would be there in an hour. Two and a half hours later they left and left a list on the counter of the things that weren’t working. When they came back that afternoon, the list was gone and the house was left unlocked. The light bulb had been replaced in the master bedroom. The refrigerator was quieter but still warm and was still warm Sunday morning before they left. The upstairs remained hot. Nobody from Vacasa ever followed up with us. Monday morning my brother in law called Vacasa to discuss all the things that went wrong. He was told they needed to speak to me since I made the reservation and that I would get a call from the team. That call never came. Tuesday morning I called Vacasa and was told the refrigerator and ac had been fixed and that they had talked to my brother in law. That is incorrect.
