About this property
Leiper’s Retreat – Secluded 3 BDR Craftsman Home
Summary:
This hidden gem set amongst the rolling hills and historic charm of Franklin is truly a sight to behold, where southern hospitality meets modern luxury to provide the perfect family retreat, romantic getaway, or simply an escape for peace and tranquility.
The Space:
Located on an almost 3-acre secluded lot, privacy is in abundance at this historic 1930s home, in a location that places you within the sought-after arts district known as Leiper’s Fork. Here, you’re only a 40-minute drive from the heart of the dynamic city of Nashville, and under 20 minutes to downtown Franklin offering trendy boutiques and award-winning restaurants. Immerse yourself in the city's rich heritage with a visit to landmarks like the Carter House and Carnton, or take a leisurely stroll along Main Street, soaking in all the sights and sounds. The home’s shaded front porch with built-in wood fireplace will be your go-to spot for your morning coffee or an evening cocktail, enjoying the panoramic views while turning the pages of a good book. To get the adrenaline pumping, grab a ball and shoot some hoops on the basketball court, providing hours of competitive fun.
This craftsman-style home has been completely renovated through the vision and talents of two local historic preservationists. As it was completely rebuilt, parts of the original structure were reincorporated into the new design. Antique hand-picked doors, handles, and more were repurposed throughout the home along with repurposed bead board to create a rustic feel. The fireplace was recreated with Indiana limestone that was hand hewn on site. Custom windows were designed to replicate the original windows and the two-story garage was inspired by a barn at Roosevelt's home at Hyde Park. It’s truly a work of art at every turn!
Cozy in to plush living room sofa seating as you stream that new movie you’ve been saving on the smart TV, keeping yourself surrounded by the scenic outdoor vistas. The modern kitchen, with its stainless steel appliances, glossy stone countertops, and sleek white cabinetry, has everything you need for the convenience of preparing meals at home. You’ll have your choice of where to take your meals between the kitchen nook with bench-style seating, the dining room with formal seating for 6, or even al fresco on screened in patio with outdoor seating for 4. A grill provides a vessel for an additional mealtime offering where you can stay true to the southern heritage of whipping up a delicious afternoon barbeque.

Bedroom #1 includes a king size bed and ensuite bathroom with a dual vanity and walk-in shower.
