Great house for families!
This was the perfect house to stay at while exploring Mount Rainier! With a hot tub, gas fire pit, and game room there was something for everyone to enjoy. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Packwood.
We lost power and when we called the host, they immediately starting making their way to the house to help hook up the generator

Thank you so much for staying with us! We’re so glad you enjoyed your time here. When the brief power outage happened, we were happy to jump in and head over to get the generator going. Thankfully, Lewis County PUD restored power quickly — before we even arrived. This was actually our first power outage as hosts, and we’re always here to help if anything comes up. We really appreciate you choosing our home for your stay. We enjoyed hosting you!
Beautiful property, close to Ranier National Park for hiking. Finish the day with a soak in the hot tub, and visiting around the fire pit. Had a wonderful time, just not a long enough stay

Laura, our host, was excellent. She was kind, personable, helpful, and welcoming! The best host I have worked with using any other vacation management company ir person! Her cabin was exactly as stated with everything easy and in perfect working order! Perfectly clean and warm. Hot tub was already heated and ready to use, gas fire pit gave just enough light to see in the hot tub.
Fantastic visit ! Laura was great to work with and very communicative. Location was perfect for visiting the park and the house had everything you could ask for. We highly recommend the Chalet and can’t wait to stay here again someday. Thx Laura!

Thank you so much for the kind review, Karen! You were an absolute pleasure to host, and we're so glad you enjoyed your stay. We'd love to welcome you back anytime—our door is always open to wonderful guests like you!
The house is so nice. Very clean. Found a Personal welcome note from our host! We had a couple questions regarding the TV system and they were answered immediately. Our host offered to come back to town to help!! Between us we figured it out. But the fact they were so willing to help is great. Not your everyday vrbo service. We saw Elk in the yard! Cozy lovely stay. We will be back!

Comfy retreat close to Mt. Rainer NP
Great escape less than 30 minutes from the Steven’s Canyon entrance of Mt. Rainier NP. Really enjoyed this quiet and airy home. Game room and Hot tub were fun treats.
Awesome cozy rental located near the Steven’s Canyon entrance at Mt. Rainier national park. After long hikes we enjoyed relaxing in the nice hot tub and using gas fire pit on site! Our group of 5 fit comfortably here. Close to Packwood with a good brewery/ pub, market, and gas station. The Host Laura was very communicative and made the whole check in process simple.

Wonder in the Woods
First thing I would say is Laura is the best host we have ever had. Quick to respond, went out of her way to help us! Shawnee Chalet was great location to Mt Rainier, the house so clean and new with all modern conveniences you could ask for. A huge porch with a hot tub. We would definitely stay here again. This is a 10 stars out of 5 stars.
The property was exactly as described, clean, well stocked and the layout of the space was exceptional. It's located to give great access to the area's attractions while not in the hub of bustle. We enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor gas fire pit. While we did not cook (we usually do), the kitchen was outfitted with a great assortment of essentials and extras. Laura was an organized host who was easy to communicate with and provided clear information about the property and area. Highly recommend!

Emily, thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay (even if it was too short!) and that you loved the location, layout, and amenities. We’re especially glad you had a chance to relax in the hot tub and by the fire pit — it’s one of our favorite ways to unwind here, too. It was truly a pleasure hosting you, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime for a longer visit. Safe travels until then!
