Nice Stay

The complex was really nice and the unit was good except the mattresses on all beds where extreme hard and appeared to be old. Updating of the mattresses with nicer/softer mattresses would make the stay much nicer.

The beds in the unit were terribly uncomfortable, and there was an exposed wire in one of the bathroom lights. Overall, we had a nice stay and enjoyed having seemingly private access to the beach.

Lovely tennis/pickleball courts.Nice view, comfortable furniture including beds. Kitchen well stocked with appropriate dishes pots and pans. Needs new sharp knives.Unit itself is tired, needs updating, fix cracks on walls, paint the walls, update bathrooms, clock on kitchen wall needs batteries as it is not working., repair towel rack in master bathroom as towels make it fall off, repair cupboard doors on laundry and kitchen pantry as they are off the runners, needs new kitchen bread knife.

They were all done rather quckly in the first two days of our stay, but why did we have to cope with them?Also, we had brought some DVD;s to watch, BUT NO Remote Control! Same for the DVR. Also, we were given a phone number for the unit, but, guess what - the phone didn't work. If an owner does not want certain things to be used, they should not be there. We had our cell, but still????? Oh well, the furniture was newer, unit was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the property! What a great quiet location at the end of a beautiful beach. The grounds were maintained impeccably as well. The unit we rented was a huge disappointment. Yes I knew from the photos It was dated and that doesn’t bug me, you can tell it has not been updated since being purchased in 1993. But it’s clear the owner has not stayed there recently nor has the rental company done a close inspection as well. All the bifold closet doors are so old they sag off the rails and could bit be fixed. The master bath had one broken towel rack near the shower and one $5 unit that falls off the wall at the slightest touch. A kitchen drawer falls off the rails if opened. A couple burned out bulbs and a chandelier with lights so bright you almost can’t use it. Magazines from the 2018 season. The bedding was 1970’s Howard Johnsonesque and neither of the bedrooms blinds worked. The unit was quite clean when we arrived but without even a bottle of windex supplied we would have loved to clean while we were there much more.Quite frankly as a property owner ourselves to see that with just $4-5,000 invested it could still be stellar! If the owner doesn’t invest at least that it should be dropped from the rental pool.

The condo was spotless when we arrived, the furniture, while a little old fashioned was in perfect condition. Some of the pots and pans I think are nearing replacement time but everything g we needed was there and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything one would need for cooking. The location of this complex is perfect, steps to the beach which is peaceful, never crowded ?even during Spring Break!), and the pool was great as well. From the condos on the bay side I will say the music across the water at the bar I s very loud on the weekends pretty late- light sleepers may have an issue but we did not and even our 2 year old slept without a problem. Overall we loved our stay and plan to be back next year!

This was our first time overlooking the inland waterway and it made a pleasant change. The noise from the bars opposite didn't worry us, but it might bother more sensitive people. Lands End is wonderful and we will return, but not to this property. We'll go back to Gulf Front for views of sunsets and dolphins. We have learnt that visiting in January can give you some very poor weather! October/November next time.

Welcome to 1970! Filthy, dangerous, cracked walls, termites...

Cluttered with old dusty faded fake plants, too much furniture on balcony (including broken detached screen door,) hair in freezer and master sink, cracked walls and peeling paint on bathroom walls and ceiling in master, termites crawled on me in bed and wings were under my pillow. Sparking electrical outlets in kitchen, hanging cabinet door under sink, rusty bottle cap was in garbage disposal, sticky kitchen floor, detached pantry door, insufficiently supplied- cheap one ply toilet paper, no paper towels, no garbage bags (who wants to go buy this stuff on vacay?!) dish soap or sponge in kitchen, threshold in kitchen popped up and loose- (when repaired-screws were left too high so you can cut your foot,) screens all deteriorated and shedding on window sills, thin rough towels- which had to be put in drier when we arrived. Stupid wall phone in kitchen keeps ringing- very shrill. Super ugly dishes and utensils, only two pillows in master, NO beach towels for use at pool (not the norm in FL!) All the old books in baskets need to be chucked. Someone came into our rental while we were out and put those two ugly green plastic chairs I left outside the front door back on the balcony! Lucky they didn’t get shot. Besides needing SERIOUS updating, (start by just throwing stuff out!) this property is VERY poorly maintained! Why aren’t maintenance walk through being done? Why is it so poorly supplied? This property is an embarrassment to the owners and the rental company. And any of you who listed issues and STILL gave this five stars should be ashamed of yourselves! What are you used to that this is acceptable to you? Besides that- grouchy guard shack man charged one of our dinner guests $10 but not our other guests! Walking trail and pool and beach are all nice- but trail is sagging in some areas. If you like loud rockin music you won’t mind The Toasted Monkey every night until 10. It can be fun- but overall- we c

Cleanliness

The unit itself was great. But the housecleaning and exterior property management was horrible. Needs to be audited and fixed. When we arrived, coffee machine had old coffee in it. Dirty wash rag was hung over shower curtain, counters had debris from last tenant, but house keeping was there because they had tape on toilets. We spent 3 hours recleaning entire apartment. Two days later I watched house cleaning break a bag open, dragging down steps. Four razor blades, used bandages, prescription drug bottle with pills in it came out with other garbage. She looked at it got angry left and when i came back 5 hours later it was still there on the steps,. Had to call for a cleanup, they came but when done glass, used dental floss and goop was still on steps. My last full day I spent hurt and unable to go on beach or pool. Coming down steps someone had a bed frame they stuck in the bushes with the metal legs stuck out. I came around corner kicked the metal legs, cut my foot open in two places. Thank good i wasn't carrying anything or i might have fallen and been hurt worse. Nobody was in office to talk with, emergency call number said it was a condo issue they couldn't do anything, I went to guard shack they had no peroxide or anything to clean wounds, no accident report to fill out. You were on your own. Spent day going to Drug store and taking care of issue, could not spend day on beach or pool due to potential infection. I left a message and number with complex, they never contacted me. They don't care about health, cleanliness and safety of guests. I would not go back until HOA takes serious look at property management.

I felt safe enough to allow my 17 year old and her friend to walk to the beach or pool even if we were not right beside them. The only negative was the slider door was loud when opening and closing (bottom needed greased or something). The Lands End staff were old grumpy men and rude to everyone. But other than that it was amazing.

Reviewer Comments: Having stayed at Land's End the past 4 years in two other units we found this to be less than expectations. Although it was dated, we were more concerned with appearance as far as painting and general upkeep. I am also certain we had picked an oceanfront unit that was next to bay when booking originally. We blame ourselves for not verifying when we were accepted. Interior photos and view were definitely different then what we ended up with for our vacation. We were happy to be back at Land's End and Treasure Island as we have friends who live there. We rate property condition as 2.5, general condition ok - 3, clean - 3, and property management a 4.

Renters Beware!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Where do I begin....the beach was fantastic but this specific condo was not! The condo was in "great need" of updating and deep cleaning. Artificial/ plastic flowers throughout the condo, hard/uncomfortable beds, minimal kitchen supplies, no beach towels, hard to open front door, ants on the lanai,cheap plastic lanai chairs/table. We called Resort Rentals the second day because the WiFi was not working. They sent someone right away to fix it. Beware: There is a dog beach directly outside this condo unit on the bay side. If you are sitting on the lanai you will hear dogs barking and people partying/drinking. You will also be looking at 3 bars across the way and during the day and evening you will hear music and live bands. If you are looking for tranquil and quiet, then this condo is not the place. If you like hearing music & dogs barking while sitting on your lanai, then you will be happy. I did not feel like this was a good value for what we paid. I expected more for price.
