Charming and unique waterfront 3 BR 2 BA beach house on the Albemarle Sound
Enjoy Sunset Place. It only takes one evening relaxing on the second story amazingly large deck with see-through glass panels to realize the name is well suited. From dining in the screened in porch or just lounging on the deck overlooking the Albemarle Sound, the views are breath taking and will make family memories. We welcome families to enjoy their stay, however we do not cater to construction crews nor do we allow pets or inside smoking.
The space Sunset Place features a large Master Bedroom with Cathedral ceilings and ceiling fan and french doors that open to the deck over looking the Albemarle Sound. The kingsize bed with luxurious linings and full size fluffy pillows set the mood for a cozy night with a movie or good book. Large screen smart TV is located above bedroom entrance for easy viewing from the bed. Master bath features granite countertops with double sinks and an oversized walk-in shower with bench makes the ending to a great day.
The two bedrooms are decorated with style and charm, one featuring a TV set with fire stick, while the other provides a quiet and tranquil atmosphere. Full bath down the hall including a large over sized tub to relax the sore muscles the day has brought on from swimming and fishing.
The open Great room also has a ceiling fan and TV with fire stick and can accommodate several activities all at once, with kitchen and Dining Room in the same room. Making dinner on the beautiful gas range or grilling the catch of the day are easy and fun in this gorgeous kitchen. The Dining room table is perfect for family games and putting a puzzle together.
Down the stairs from the elevated deck, walk the 100 ft pier to the boating dock which is partially covered and features a swimming platform and ladder to step right into the sandy bottom of Albemarle Sound. The water is about 5 feet deep, so NO DIVING from the pier, dock or platform. Enjoy a day in the sun or in the shade with the cool breezes off the water. You'll have to bring floats for floating and fishing poles for fishing. They even make inflatable kayaks. If you decide to bring your boat, you can tie up to the pier or the Mooring piling a few feet West of the pier. Mackey's Marina is under 2 miles away and has a boat ramp to put your boat in the water.
The roomy outdoor shower with bench, mirrors and clothing hooks is located on the patio, convenient for a quick rinse before heading inside. The boat on the property, as well-as, the boat lift, are not included in your stay, please be respectful of them.
Have the children bring their bikes, the patio makes for fun riding or a family bike ride down Albemarle Beach Road cul-de-sac.
Less than 10 minutes down the road, Plymouth by-pass offers numerous fast-food restaurants, including KFC, Bojangles, McDonalds, Burger King, and Pizza Hut to name a few. Historic Downtown Plymouth sits right on the Roanoke River and has several quaint restaurants and shops. And don't forget Mackey's Marina (The Landing Restaurant) featuring a Bar and Grill just minutes down the road from Sunset Place.
There are several seafood restaurants right across the sound in Edenton and Hertford (about a 30 minute drive) or you can head east on Hwy 64 to Columbia or a little further to Manteo or even Nags Head. (a little over an hour from Sunset Place.) Nags Head doesn't just offer food, but a beautiful beach over-looking the Atlantic Ocean. Very accurate description of property on VRBO. Relaxing and peaceful, right on the water, spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay, comfortable beds and the kitchen was well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved how quiet and aerene the area was even over a holiday weekend. Everything in the house was wonderful! Very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
We had a great week stay. The sunrises and sunsets over the sound were great! The house and pictures were just as advertised. We would surely stay there again. Thanks for sharing your house.
Very clean home in a peaceful location. View of sunset was beautiful. Dock right on sound and nice large deck/screened porch. Fantastic host who checked in on our stay. Explored Edenton, OBX and Atlantic Beach during our 4 day stay.
Nice location. Great views. Limited parking but accommodations were made that worked out great. You will be required to go upstairs. But once you're there everything's on the same level.
We enjoyed a picture perfect short vacation. Very peaceful and laid back, lovely property with everything we needed. A definite hidden gem, with stunning sunsets, as promised, and also gorgeous sunrises at this time of year. Carleen was a great & attentive property manager/hostess and a super person, as well. We are already planning to return to Sunset Place as soon as we can, and as often as we can.
The house was very clean, there were many amenities provided, lots of towels, bottled water and plenty of cooking implements. Carleen was very helpful and met us as soon as we arrived. Answered any of our questions and was timely in her responses. The views from the porch were phenomenal. We enjoyed the wildlife around the property including daily flyovers by eagles, ospreys and cormorants. We hope to book again in the future.
