Enjoy your home away from home at Misty Manor on Piney Island, off of Chincoteague Island. It is the second closest street you can stay to the beautiful beaches and peaceful serenity of Assateague Island! This 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath vintage Chincoteague cottage is the perfect retreat to slow down, take a deep breath, start a fire, ride bikes to the beach, and truly enjoy an island getaway! This cottage is a year-round destination. Misty Manor is perfect for solos, couples, families or a girls trip! Six guest max (4 adults max) due to septic constraints.

This renovated, one-story home is the perfect place to stay when visiting Chincoteague Island. It is in the closest community to Assateague Island. It is 2.1 miles to the beach but also a short bike or ride into town and in close proximity to bike rentals and Maui Jacks. It is a quiet street but located just off of Maddox so easy access to restaurants, stores, golf, ice cream, and more!

You will find two King master bedrooms on separate sides of the house allowing for privacy and one bedroom with two double beds. There is also a second, small living room with a pull out queen size sofa bed. All beds and linens are new in 2025. Each bedroom contains a full closet and ceiling fan with remote as well as room darkening curtains if you like to catch your Zs while on vacation! All 3 bedrooms and both living areas are equipped with a smart TV (5 total). Wifi is provided.

One full bath and one half bath will suit your needs along with an outside shower.

The full kitchen contains all of your basic cooking needs for a week at the beach! There is even a mini fridge and basic bar supplies.

There is a large back screened in porch for dinners and games as well as a front deck for morning coffee. The front sunroom is great place to sit and relax as well.

The dining area seats six. The screened in porch offers a dining table for six as well. There is a full size stackable washer and dryer for your laundry needs.

The cleaning fee includes linens for each bed, pillows, quilts and bath towels for six as well as kitchen towels and some extra beach towels. We also include a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap and trash bags.

We have a shed with beach necessities and bikes available for you to use or you can easily walk to the bike rental across the street. There is also a water access boat ramp if you bring a kayak or canoe.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Put all outside cushions back in deck box on porch. Place cover back on outside couch. Put fire pit back. Clean up games, bikes, beach gear.
Sweep or vacuum any excess hair and sand. Place used towels in the laundry basket. Do not strip beds.
Turn off lights and fans and set AC to 78. Check list on fridge.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Due to septic constraints, the house can host a max of 6 guests (4 adults max).

Perfect location!

We had a lovely stay at Misty Manor! The house was the perfect size for our family of 4 with one bedroom to spare. It was well-appointed with necessities as well as extra perks that made our stay even better, like a huge shed full of beach gear and bikes we could use. It is in a quiet neighborhood just off of the main road with easy access to Assateague as well as restaurants and shops. The host was wonderful. We'll definitely come again!

I am Sarah from Delaware. I always wanted a place to call home in Chincoteague. Misty Manor is our dream come true fixer upper cottage in the lovely Chincoteague. The property was renovated in 2025. I love hosting others and helping them have a nice well-deserved week at the beach in our beachy home away from home.

Why they chose this property

The location of Misty Manor is the best on the island because it is closest to the beautiful Assateague Island National Park and relaxing beach! You can make a right and ride into town or make a left and hit the beach in 2.1 miles. It is a quiet street, and we have a nice yard for the kids to play in, a fire pit with plenty of wood. The sound of the cedar trees blowing and the bay breeze coming through the back porch is magical.

What makes this property unique

Our property is unique because of its location to the beach and National Park. It is also within walking distance to the water park, shops and restaurants. You can sit on the screened in porch and smell/feel the bay breezes. There are plenty of games/books for the family to enjoy. It truly feels like home away from home. You will find peace and healing on this beautiful island and in our home that we have restored by breathing life and love back into.
