Thanks Patrick for your detailed review. Please come again and enjoy the beautiful Cumberland Valley.
Our group of seven people were very comfortable in this beautiful house. There was plenty of space for all of us. The house was clean and located within walking distance of shops & restaurants. The owner was quick to respond when I had questions. I’d definitely recommend The Doctor’s House.
The house was perfect! It was much bigger than we expected. Other than the initial walk through, we never even used the third floor. The casual dining room was nice for breakfast and the formal dining area could seat 8 - 10. Communication was almost instantaneous when we had questions. Hope to visit here again.
If I could give this home and and property manager more than 5 stars I would. Communication was absolutely the best I’ve ever had from any property owner ever in all my years of travel. Even sent a list of recommended local spots to check out. Angelo’s was awesome by the way. The house…what can you say? It’s not every day someone gets the pleasure of staying in such a gorgeous, welcoming home so rich in history. If I’m ever back in the area, I will certainly check availability of this one Belle anywhere else. Thank you for such an amazing experience.
This would be a great house in warmer months, it’s not a good house in the winter. The downstairs was cold the entire time we were there. The downstairs thermostat was very confusing, we couldn’t get the temp above 66 without contacting the owner. The kitchen was very cold too, even when the living room warmed up a little. The upstairs thermostat was simple and the upstairs was warm.Overall the house itself was a charming old house, nicely equipped, great location. The other issue we had was getting out of the garage after it snowed. We told the owner that we had to leave the house by 8:30 am Monday morning for my Mom’s funeral. We were told the snow would be cleared. We even went outside to clear the snow ourselves on Sunday night. There was a man clearing his sidewalk, who told us that the owner had asked him to clear the snow. The man said he was waiting for it to stop snowing before he cleared it. We went ahead and cleared the front porch and sidewalk, but didn’t do the garage area because the man said he would do it. Monday morning at 8am, no one had cleared behind the garage doors. We were dressed in our clothes for the funeral and we had to clear the snow so we could get out. There was 1 snow shovel and 1 stone rake. It took us 30 minutes to clear enough snow to get out one if our cars. When we returned to the house at 1:30pm after the funeral, the snow had been cleared from the other garage door but not from around the telephone pole. We had to remove more snow.

Thanks Sue for your detailed review. Everything you mentioned is accurate. Unfortunately, the Google smart thermostat we have downstairs have some quirky AI settings which can be tricky to figure out and the unsually super cold last few days was not helping either. I hope it was fine after we fixed setpoints promptly.
You are right, we couldn't get to clearing the snow until 9.30 am. However, we did provide snow shovel and salt so our guests have optionality. Nevertheless, we are sorry for the inconvenience. Hope you had a relaxing rest of the stay and good memories.
Such a great historical home. We had a lovely stay. My dogs were very welcomed. We even got a doggy surprise from Amazon. The fenced in yard is perfect for the dogs and there is a little sitting area to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine while the dogs play. The beds were very comfortable. There are some nice places to eat that are in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
