Beautiful area, roomy house with everything we needed for a family vacation. Within 15 minutes of many sites and activities. Our host was very understanding and helpful.
We had a great time here. The cabin was nice and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the location and area all around. The fire pit and horseshoes were really fun to use. All in all we loved the stay and all agreed we would stay here again. Thankyou so much.
Loved how private the property is. The kids had so much fun playing outside. The dining room table is GREAT to play games on and lots of Cd's, DVD's and VCR tapes. Kids wound down every night
The cabin was perfect for friends to meet up and relax for a long weekend. The collection of CDs was awesome! And the kitchen was stocked with the tools we needed to cook meals. Grocery store is nearby for added convenience.
This was the perfect property for what we were looking for for a friends weekend away. The check in process was easy, the rooms and layout of the cabin were exactly what we expected from the pictures. We had plenty of firewood for in the firepit, horseshoes were fun and enjoyable. The kitchen had what we needed. Wifi was readily available and was documented with how to connect. The host was readily available and was always prompt with replies to questions and keeping us informed.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations. Cleanliness is a top priority for us, and it's clear we fell short in this instance. We've already addressed the issues with our cleaning team to ensure the fridge and all surfaces receive a deeper, more thorough clean going forward.
We’ve also contacted our pest control provider to take immediate action regarding the ants, and we’re reinforcing preventative treatments around the cabin to keep this from happening again.
We appreciate your comment about communication. While we do our best to provide all details in a timely manner, we’ve now added an automatic message with check-out instructions to ensure there’s no confusion for future guests.
We’re grateful for your honesty, and we’re taking your feedback seriously to improve the experience for everyone who stays with us.
Warm regards,
Lindsay and Dave
Stayed with a scout troop for a week long stay. The house has a cabin feel to it. It’s not glamorous but several levels up from a scout camp cabin. The boys had a great time and this was the only place that could house 11 boys (some slept on air mattresses) with chaperones and at a fair price. Our boys raised a lot of money to afford a little better amenities than a traditional scout cabin and I feel it paid off. The host was great with communication and was very accommodating. Really appreciate them letting us stay for the week. This cabin does not typically hold that many people but the host was great about letting us bring air mattresses and cots and there was still plenty of space. I can’t picture any of the scouts but I did post a couple pics of my son and I on the Gettysburg trip. It will forever be a core memory for us.

About the host
Hosted by David Cameron Haller
My wife and I grew up in the surrounding area, and recently moved back after 10 years in Colorado. We are avid outdoor enthusiasts and this cabin has helped us get our two daughters (7 and 9) excited about being outside and exploring nature. We love spending time hiking, biking, building forts, and skiing at nearby Ski Liberty. Our family is excited to share our mountain escape with you, and hope you find it as relaxing and enjoyable as we do.
Why they chose this property
When we found this property we fell in love with it's charm and the fact that we had access to the mountains right out the door of the cabin. I am an avid runner and love being able to just put on my shoes and head out for a long trail run without the need for a long drive. We also loved the fact that less than two miles away there is a pool, a stocked fishing stream for kids only, and some nice playgrounds to keep our little ones busy. Additionally, the fact that it is only 20 minutes from our home in Gettysburg means we can head up to the cabin at the drop of a hat.
What makes this property unique
One of the main things that makes this property unique is the feeling of being in a remote mountain location, with the uncommon proximity to so many amenities. The setting of the cabin in the middle of the woods quickly takes your mind away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but if you feel the urge to explore, or want to get the family out of the house, there are ample opportunities for both common and unique activities. There is swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, golfing, and a even a playhouse theater extremely close by, with skiing, wineries, farm markets, antiquing, horseback riding and restaurants all within a short drive. To top it all off you are 20 minutes away from one of the most important battlegrounds from the US Civil War, the historic Gettysburg National Military park, which draws over 1.75 million visitors per year.
