We like to play cards and other games and we had a great time hanging out in the game room. I beat up my brother at the foosball table and we relaxed in the hot tub. The lake is a little further from the house than we thought, but it was a nice walk down to check it out. Tony the owner and property manger was super friendly and very laid back with everything.
We had a great time getting away at this adorable cabin style home. The Hot tub was great! We just wanted a quick birthday getaway for my 8 year old who just enjoys time in nature. A big plus for us was that we could bring our dog. The home was clean and had everything we need to cook meals. We would definitely go back to this property in the future.
We came back! This time we rented Toni’s second property and it is equally beautiful and spacious. Just a short walk from his private lake where kids went sledding and then relaxed in a hot tub. The house was decorated for the holidays which made it feel extra festive and welcoming. We also spent some time around the fire pit roasting marshmallows and enjoying crisp winter air. Kids especially enjoyed the game room with a pool table, foosball, and roulette (there is a cozy bar for adults too). There’s plenty of stores, bars and restaurants nearby (Wallenpaupack Brewery and Ringside Grill are a must to visit). It was the perfect spot for a memorable holiday getaway. Highly recommend!
We stayed on the property from a Friday to Monday and the house was great for our guests. We had two families; one with three children and one with an infant. The house had a game room (first floor) so the children could have their own space. There was plenty of room to spread out. We had a fire and were able to use the hot tub one night. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.
We stayed Sun to Fri in June, had perfect weather. Small lake on property short walk through woods, lovely for gentle boating and a swim. Big lake short drive, excellent for recreation like tubing, waterskiing etc. House easy fit for six, beautifully crafted and outfitted by owner, lots of wood. Very comfortable.
The house was spotless. There was plenty of room for everyone. The downstairs was great for entertainment with the pool table, foosball, casino, bar, tv and bathroom. The hot tub was a big hit for the kids. The bedrooms are a good size with plenty room. The upstairs (kitchen, dining room, and living room) was perfect. Plenty of room for 8 people. The yard is big and good for games. When we wanted to have a fire and make s’mores I didn’t see any firewood so I called Tony. Less than an hour later more than enough wood was delivered. Overall I would give this a 5 star rating.
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and well kept. I didn’t love being so close to the road and hearing the cars & trucks going by but when you’re out back it was very peaceful. If your planning on using the grill, check it out first. We had to go get propane last minute because it was empty and when we finally were going to grill, it wasn’t as clean as it should have been and the flames were excessive! The walk to the lake wasn’t bad. Love the chickens! 😜 The kayaks on the private lake were a lot of fun. Thank you for an overall wonderful time!

Awesome!
I rented both houses on this property with 13 friends. The houses are great for relaxing, gathering together, and also gave space to separate when needed. The house was awesome with the pool table, deck, hot tub, fire pit, etc. It rained a lot during our visit, but we were still able to enjoy our trip b/c the houses were equipped. Tony was a gracious host and had everything set up for us. The area is beautiful and we would definitely return for another visit.
If you are looking for a quiet, affordable, and fun packed trip - this is the place.
The house is located on a road, but you enter through the side road and go around back so it feels like you are secluded which is fantastic! The lake is a short walk away and you pass the geese, chickens, and other birds Tony has too. Tony was great and replied quickly to any questions I had. Very friendly and a great host! The house was clean, has what you need, hot-tub, pool table, and the kayaks on the private lake were a great feature!
Saving this place for when I want to come back in the future!

Nice cabin but…
We really enjoyed the stay and the home was generally clean. However the dishwasher was very dirty with old food at the bottom and we could not use it. We found some of the dishes and cups were also dirty from the food in the dishwasher so we washed all the dishes that we used and did not use the dishwasher at all. The frying pans are not clean at all and when we cooked scrambled eggs, there were little bits of the pan in our eggs. This was a real turn off and we could not eat eggs for breakfast.
The front of the house is situated on a busy road and you can hear the cars drive by. We thought it was on 33 “private acres”. The firewood was wet and we bought our own even though the owner said there would be wood for us. We enjoyed the walk to the pond and it was very relaxing. Overall we had a great time and you can tell they put a lot of love into the home but I’m thinking the person who does the house cleaning is not doing their job.
We arrived and checked in after a quick chat with Tony. The house was very clean and relatively bug free - surprising considering the wooded location and my deep seeded fear of spiders. Just about everything we needed was there for our relaxing mountains vacation. Towels, toilet paper, hand towels, hand soap, firewood.
The only remotely not positive thing I could possibly say is that the house does sit quite close to the road, however the front isn't easily accessible to the back (parking at both). Our kids and dogs had no issue staying out back and the road wasn't a concern. And being a country road, there isn't much traffic at all so it wasn't a bother to us.
The kids, dogs, and ourselves had an absolutely wonderful, fun and relaxing time. We used the hot tub every day. The pool table and indoor amenities were entertaining when it rained for a whole day.
We walked down to the lake a couple times during our stay and used the row boat and kayaks. Hunted for some frogs. Everyone had a very enjoyable time.
Tony was a communicative and friendly host. If anyone is looking for some time to experience the woods without having to experience the tent life, this is your place.
Also, if you need a place to eat - we went to the Dock which is conveniently only 7 minutes away. The food and views were excellent!
We had such a great time. The house was really good and fit our needs well.
The game area downstairs made for a nice separation between sleeping and playing.
The bedrooms are of adequate size and had everything you might need….except clocks! The only clock in the house was on the stove. Having a clock on at least the two lower floors would be very helpful. Especially if you want to unplug from your devices!
The kitchen was good size. Yes the kitchen has a lot of things - but if you intend to do a bunch of cooking, I definitely recommend bringing serving/mixing bowls. Otherwise if they don’t have it there - just go get it.
The only downside was there was a leak in the roof where the chimney flashing and the roof met - and when it was not frozen, it leaked inside. Luckily it was frozen most of the time. The owner was very quick to diagnose it - but not a lot he could do to fix it on the spot. Like I said - it was ok for us - but I’d check with the owner when you show up to make sure it’s been fixed.
The other thing that is very nitpicky - you think the house you are renting is on the lake. It’s not. It is near a creek. Not the lake. Not that big a deal this time - but I would be upset if I was really wanting the lake…
Overall - I’d go back and stay there again. Tony is a great host. Very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
Overall, the house was nice! We enjoyed our stay!
The lake did not look anything like the pictures posted! You couldn’t walk on the dock- half was under water! And the boat was in the weeds!
If you are looking for a place to hang and have a good time! Great place! We enjoyed the Hot tub every day!
Great location but would not consider this a lake house.
House was very clean and comfortable. It had everything you needed. Weather was beautiful and we were hoping to kayak on the lake one of the days we stayed but the lake was full of algae and Lilly pads etc. seemed more like a swamp. We did rent a boat on lake Wallenpaupack which was only 10 minutes away.
The house was very clean and check in was easy when we arrived. The backyard was very nice, open and the trails were good for an easy walk. We had 8 of us plus 2 dogs and the room of the house was great, plenty of space. Tony was great to deal with and we would definitely keep him and his house in mind for the future. Plus the location to the lake and stores was very convenient.
We stayed at Tony’s place for a family trip to explore some State Parks and do a little fishing. The house is near the road but that is okay because there is parking in back and a nice secluded area with a fire pit. The walk to the pond isn’t bad, but it is all up hill on the way back. Good for a workout after dinner. The house itself is great. Lots of wood and charm. Everything worked as advertised. Kids loved the pool table and foosball. We used the hot tub, nice way to relax after some hiking. Tony is available if you need anything and is very accommodating. There are multiple state parks nearby and we also did some hiking in the Delaware state forest. Fishing in the pond we caught pickerel, bass and bluegill. We saw a bald Eagle fly by and there are multiple beavers in the pond. Would definitely recommend and would love to return for another trip.
Everything really was perfect for my 50TH birthday weekend. The description of the house and property was perfectly accurate. We found the house to be a comfortable & relaxing place to stay. We used the hotub, walked down to the lake and had a picnic lunch & made a nice fire in the firepit in the evening. I would highly recommend this rental.
We had a wonderful time in Paupack! We used the house as a base for a weekend of hiking in the general area. The foliage was beautiful in early October and the hot tub was a very welcome addition after some of our longer treks. Everything went smoothly and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Tony
Hi, My name is Tony Scis, owner of the rental house. I own over 31 acres of beautiful nature in Paupack Town Poconos PA. This house sits on 31acres of nature land. There is a stream running through the backyard of the house that ends up in our lake. My family and I family live on adjoined land (21 acres) and I maintain my properties with the help of my cousin Peter and a local cleaning crew. I love nature and outdoors, that is why I have chosen to live here.
Why they chose this property
I own my land for over 30 years. It was my weekend getaway. Now I enjoy my retirement and love my place even more. I love outdoor activities, grilling and outdoor cooking, hiking and fishing. Love to have my family and friends spending time by the bonfires.
What makes this property unique
It is a beautiful house in great location for people who love nature, outdoors, bonfires, space and privacy.
The house is completely renovated and updated. I did all of the work myself, using my own wood from my Land, which gives the house a unique look. I used wood found on my land for decorating in the home. The house has 3 porches (one covered) and covered patio by the grill. Backyard grass field gets lots of sunlight. The wet bar makes for a great place to host a small party or watch a sporting event!
