About this property
Eclectic Industrial Loft-King Bed Suite w Private Door
This gorgeous loft is located in a 1920’s automotive factory, and has retained some of those original elements like the exposed brick, hardwood floors, wood pillars and other little details reminiscent of a bustling factory.
Located in Milwaukee Junction, an industrial/ post-industrial area that is seeing a resurgence in restaurants, cafes, shops, etc.
Easily access everything Detroit has to offer in 3-10 min. You can reach downtown Detroit in 10 min and midtown in 5 min. All theatres, stadiums, music venues, etc are all within 5 miles of the building.
This loft is located on the first floor and has a private door, with convenient parking right outside the door or nearby.
The loft is clean, cozy and offers all travel essentials.
There are two sleeping quarters: downstairs in the studio space there is a king size bed. Upstairs in the loft area there is a full size bed. You must use the ladder to get up there, and the space is about 4ft in height. Both beds are very comfortable, in my humble opinion.
The room can be set up to accommodate a toddler/ infant. I have a pack-and-play, high chair, and toys/books which I can set up for no additional charge, if they’re available and by request.
Other features:
• Kitchen equipped w/ essential cooking tools and spices
• Black out curtains for restful sleep
• Sound machine
• 55” smart tv
This loft is Located in Milwaukee Junction, which is mainly an industrial area but has some buildings that have been remodeled as apartments, restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, etc. There are 2 great restaurants 5 blocks away- Oak and Reel and Freya. The building is tucked away in its own quiet corner. Please note there are some abandoned buildings nearby. But it is a very safe area. The building is a large complex with many neighbors so please note there might be noises from neighbors passing through the hallway or parking lot and there might be marijuana odors in common areas.

About the host
Hosted by Georgia
Ever since I started backpacking internationally at the age of 18 I was drawn to working in hospitality. I first started hosting in Detroit in 2012 through couch surfing. I really enjoyed showing people the city, and making connections with people all over the world. Later, I worked at a hostel in Crete, which solidified my sense of belonging in the hospitality industry.
I started doing short-term hosting shortly after that in a loft I lived at in Detroit. After I met my husband, he joined me in my endeavors by helping me with furniture building and other maintenance-related things. Together we were able to establish ourselves more professionally. We hope to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. And we are always reachable in case you need anything!

Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is called Milwaukee Junction. It has very easy access to I-75 freeway, as well as all the spots of interest in Detroit. Milwaukee Junction is removed from the hustle a bustle of the downtown area, making it quiet and safe, yet close enough to easily access everything. Around the building you can see some cool industrial landscapes mixed with untouched nature, the train junction responsible for the birth of "motor city", and about 5 blocks away we have our own neighborhood bar, cafes, highly rated restaurants, and a comic book store.
What makes this property unique
The exterior is an all-brick, historic, architectural beauty. It used to be a industrial building, home to original car manufacturers of Detroit. The private entry to the loft used to be a loading dock, and inside the loft itself you can see many markers of its industrial past.
