The house was quite welcoming and clean and the vibe inside was very warm and cozy. It’s perfectly placed close enough to town to be convenient (PLEASE eat at Sloan’s NY Grill if you get a chance and get the prime rib or a steak, SO delicious) but far enough from town where you feel like you’ve got your own space to breathe and to enjoy privacy. We used it as a base to visit colleges with our older son who is a senior in high school. We were able to tour Oneonta, UAlbany and Binghamton in 3 days using this as a home. We mostly slept there (the beds and the couch were quite comfortable) but we also enjoyed winding down in the evenings after our college tours … watching old episodes of Seinfeld and just relaxing in the living room which had ample seating for a family of 4 and a big tv. The local pizza was also yummy and that’s quite a compliment as we are from Long Island and, therefore, pizza snobs for better or for worse. It snowed pretty consistently during our visit but the host was absolutely amazing about plowing and salting the driveway so we never had trouble getting in or out of the property to keep our appointments at the various schools. If our son decides to attend Oneonta, we would love to stay again while moving him in or out of the dorms or whenever parents and families were invited to visit. This is a great rental!
