About this property

Forest cabin w/fireplace & deck fire pit

Summary:

Escape to a tranquil forest cabin where crisp mountain air and fireside evenings invite relaxation, and the surrounding woods provide peaceful seclusion. Enjoy evenings by the fire and mornings on the deck under twinkling lights.

- Sleeps 4 | 2 bedrooms | 2 beds | 1 bath

- Woodburning fireplace for cozy evenings

- Spacious deck w/ string lights & fire pit

- Fully equipped kitchen & dining area

- WiFi, Smart TV & board games

- Dog-friendly retreat

The Space:

A quiet forest settles around you as evening light filters through the trees, the air crisp and still. Inside, a woodburning fireplace flickers to life, filling the cabin with gentle warmth while the surrounding woods create a sense of calm and seclusion. Days unfold slowly, inviting you to wander the wooded acre, and nights invite you to unwind by firelight under a canopy of stars.

Sleeping Arrangements

The cabin sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms. On the main level, the primary bedroom offers a king bed for restful nights. Upstairs, an open loft holds a queen bed, perfect for family members or close friends who are comfortable sharing the space.

Kitchen & Dining

A fully equipped kitchen provides everything you need to prepare simple meals, and a nearby dining table creates an easy flow between cooking, eating, and relaxing. A BBQ grill on the deck adds the option of outdoor cooking, while board games and a Smart TV give you low‑key entertainment for evenings in.

Outdoor Living

Step onto a spacious deck where string lights add a soft glow as the sun sets. A fire pit offers another gathering spot, especially appealing on chilly nights when the stars peek through bare branches. The deck and surrounding acre invite fresh‑air reflection, and free parking is available right on the property.

Conveniences & Comforts

Heating and air conditioning keep the cabin comfortable year‑round. Wi‑Fi is provided, though service can be slower or spotty in this remote mountain setting, so downloading essential content in advance is wise. A washer and dryer, bathroom essentials, and thoughtful touches support longer stays. The retreat is dog‑friendly, allowing your canine companion to share the forest experience.

The Area

Located in Gerrardstown, the cabin is a short drive from historic sites, antique shops, and the small‑town charm of the surrounding area. Hiking trails, parks, and fishing spots are within easy reach, while Martinsburg offers additional dining, shopping, and local attractions a bit farther down the road.

Perfect For

Couples, small families, or small groups seeking a peaceful winter retreat will appreciate quiet mornings, fireside evenings, and easy access to nearby trails. The setting encourages you to slow down, breathe the crisp mountain air, and enjoy the rhythm of the season.

Pet-Friendly

Bring your furry friends! We love hosting families and well-behaved dogs! For allergy and maintenance reasons, we’re unfortunately unable to host cats.

No pet, several items needed repair. No extra blankets or quilts. Heat wasn't working. Manager communicated well. Finally moved to different rental.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

What makes this property unique

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
