About this property
Cosy double room in pretty cottage with WiFi and AC in enchanting Monteaperti
Enjoy a relaxing stay in a charming, country hideaway, nestled in the enchanting landscape between the Chianti and the dramatic scenery of the Crete Senesi.
In an idyllic setting with beautiful, sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside, stretching all the way to Siena, you can book a charming double room, with ensuite bathroom, with a super comfortable queen bed, heating, A/C WiFi etc, the bathroom features a shower and bidet for added convenience in a beautiful, newly renovated and refurbished, stone built cottage, with new, comfortable furnishings and furniture, made unique by vintage the touches of family treasures and heirlooms. Enjoy a characteristic Tuscan ambience, perfectly in tune with the traditional interiors of the property, but with all modern conveniences. You start the day with a delicious breakfast in the breakfast room and also can relax in shared lounge or in the outdoor living space in the secluded, sheltered garden behind the house.
Right here on site not only can we offer dinner at our typical Tuscan restaurant in the beautifully renovated stables on the ground floor of the main farmhouse or in the summer with our door seating under the stars, where you can enjoy the best of traditional local cuisine in the peace and tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside every evening from 19:00, but also go deeper into Tuscan cuisine at a traditional cooking classes in the family kitchen at the farmhouse and it is also possible to explore the woods above the farm in search of truffles with an expert hunter and his dogs.
Despite the peaceful rural location and its air of timeless tranquillity the Pietre Vive is only a few km from the old historic town of Siena and are close to main roads linking us all major Tuscan cities and offering easy access to all popular Italian destinations.
As well all the attractions of Siena itself you can easily visit other famous art cities like Florence, Arezzo, Perugia or still more easily explore any of the delightful medieval Tuscan hill towns nearby. You can even relax at one of the Thermal spa resorts only 15 km or so away.
We are also well situated for wine lovers, perched on the border between the Chianti area and the Crete Senesi, which takes you to Montalcino for the Brunello and Montepulciano. .. some suggestions for places to see on this side of Siena, as well as a visit to Montalcino to taste the famous Brunello wine and see the amazing views might be to go further into the countryside to the Abbey of Sant'Antimo where the monks still sing the services in the old Gregorian Chant (plain song) and/or backtrack to the main road and proceed to Pienza for the pecorino cheeses and a palace built by a Pope, allegedly around another magnificant view! Further on is Montepulciano, another famous wine town. Other places in the area include delightful little medieval villages like San Quirico and Bagno Vignoni, an old spa town with a pool as a piazza! All these little towns are all full of history and tradition. On the way back at Buonconvento you can turn off to the right following the signs for the Abbazia di Mont'Oliveto Maggiore, another beautiful abbey to visit.... They have a winery and distillery too!
We hope you'll enjoy your stay at our cottage.
