Cozy Log Home -King bed, full kitchen, bathroom with clawfoot tub, outdoor area

Alaska themed log home with king bed dressed in luxury linens. Indoor bathroom with antique tub (with its own Alaskan history) and new toilet. You’ll enjoy plush towels after a hot soak. FULL KITCHEN stocked with appliances and comfy extras! Covered porch, great for rainy evenings, and a sunny side deck and lawn to enjoy on those long summer days.
TV with DVD library for those cozy nights in.

We are located -
->10 miles/minutes from Downtown Talkeetna
->4 miles/minutes from the Parks Hwy. Turn to our cabin at the mile 4 marker of the Talkeetna Spur Road.
->45 minutes south of Denali State Park and
->2.5 hours south of Denali National Park by car but it’s a “must see” from the air!

GETTING AROUND- a car is needed.

Additional comforts include a TV and DVD player with DVD library, games, books, and magazines. Most guests enjoy the outdoor areas which include the covered front porch, sunny side deck, and lawn. We have two different seating areas outside!
Average stay is four nights. Talkeetna offers many activities!

-There are fabulous restaurants, food trucks, and cafes to enjoy for every budget near by!

No Wifi or cable.
We kindly ask for No Smoking on property. We live next door and we enjoy Alaska’s fresh air!

**Entrance is located on the second level. You must be able to walk up a small grassy hill and then up three stairs on side deck to reach entrance. Please view photos. As noted, this property is wheelchair inaccessible.

Thank you for staying 5 nights at Sunshine Log Home! Many guests comment that they wished they had stayed longer in our home. 4-6 nights is common and with your own kitchen you can save by eating in. There is so much to do and see in Talkeetna.

Thank you! Yes, we often have moose around our homes. They seem to like laying in our open yard on the grass. We’ve had mama moose and the twins around this whole year. It’s been a pleasure to watch them grow! Schedule in some relaxing time at our cabin to sit out on the deck and watch the birds and the wildlife passing by!

Denali Dream cabin!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this Talkeetna cabin! Besides being so close to Denali south and all the gorgeous mountain views, it was super comfortable! The king bed and claw foot tub were great. The whole place was pristinely clean. Host was amazingly accommodating! We will definitely recommend! God Bless!

Perfect!

This is the perfect little log cabin for two just a few minutes from Talkeetna. The cabin was well-decorated, super clean and comfortable and though on the same lot as the owner's home, still private and in a lovely setting. Also, the owner was kind enough to share the story of the cabin, recommendations for restaurants and activities and general information about the area, including wildlife and what it is like to live in the area. We would highly recommend staying here!

Cozy Get Away

This cabin is exactly like the pictures. So comfortable and had everything we needed. Only stayed one night due to how trip was planned but would stay again at least for two nights. The only thing I'd add or change is a small love seat or place to sit or stretch out. The chairs provide a place but if I were staying longer would want something a little bigger to relax on besides the bed.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience! The location was amazing- private and quiet, and Arlene thought of every detail. Beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, comfortable bed, black out curtains, and well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the deck and appreciated the availability of umbrellas when we ventured out on rainy days. Arlene created an awesome binder FULL of fun things to do in Talkeetna, along with maps and brochures we found helpful when some of our plans fell through. This is an absolutely beautiful cabin with an above and beyond host- we can't wait to visit again!

Amazing and relaxing place

Despite the rain, the cabin was fantastic. It was clean, spacious, and relaxing. As a side note, my girlfriend said the addition of the slippers made it for her. For me it was the awesome kitchen and bathroom floor. I marveled at that floor.

I'm an active mom to two beautiful kids and wife to an adventurous husband. Join my husband, Jason, for a flight at Alaska Bush Floatplane Service. Our docks are 5 miles away at mile 9.1 of the Talkeetna Spur Road. We travel often as a family and we have visited many countries together. We love hiking, kayaking, SUP, going on picnics, and tasting new foods and brews. We love Talkeetna, Alaska and have made it our home.
We are year round residents, local business owners, and active community volunteers.

Why they chose this property

There's a reason Alaska is on so many bucket lists. It's special and we couldn't imagine living anywhere else right now. Our log home rental is charming, cozy, quiet, and clean. It's at the end of a short street and we are one of two families that live on the street. The most common traffic in the area are moose traveling from one lake to another. It's also very convenient to the Talkeetna Spur Road. We love being next to a large span of forest.

What makes this property unique

This rental property was originally our first home. My husband built it and it is where we began our family. We cherish it and want you to enjoy it as much as we do. We conveniently live next door if a need arises. We respect your privacy and appreciate privacy in return. I try to meet every guest, but understand that you might be on a tight schedule.
