The Mountain House is 2,000 square feet and has three bedrooms with queen beds, two with private baths, and one bathroom downstairs. Two of the bedrooms have pullout sofa sleepers. The Mt. House has a full kitchen, living room, dining area, and porch with barbecue. There is also a deck attached to the Mountain House.
Out of the Wild Guesthouse offers scenic Denali views in a private hilltop setting with the opportunity to learn about the history of mountain climbing in Alaska.
The entire property, consisting of three separate buildings, can be rented for events.
Enjoy the local performing arts, artist co-op, brewery, and restaurants in the village of Talkeetna, or spend time on the miles of trails, nearby lakes, or Talkeetna River.

We had a great time at the guesthouse. It is super close to the grocery store in Talkeetna as well as very close to the Talkeetna Air taxi for Glacier tour and has amazing view of Mount Denali! I will definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in Talkeetna. And yes we did find the moose!

Flying with K2!

We came to fly with our son who is a pilot in the summer for K2. In the winter he lives in Girdwood and is a national ski patroller. What a life! This beautiful place enhanced our stay with its beauty inside and out!

Love the views, the layout and decor of the house and all of the functional items we needed for a weekend getaway. We messaged the manager for a Pack and Play for our toddler and they had it at the doorstep in <10 minutes. Great host and great property!

What an amazing visit. We were blessed with three beautiful days with fairly clear views of Denali. We did the wilderness tundra tour at Denali national Park and got to see four out of the five "big five". We spent a full relaxing day at the house and in Talkeetna. The town is beautiful and friendly. Relaxing at the house was its own form of heaven. The more we explored the house, the more we learned of Brian's adventures and what started as a beautiful vacation property became a home that we felt privileged to be able to stay at. Thank you for a wonderful stay- it truly helped shape our Alaskan experience!

We checked in on a rainy, overcast day. The next day was sunny and 70, and the property owner consented to our return so we could see the Denali view we missed and it was SPECTACULAR. Glad we returned. So, on a clear day, you can sit outside on the deck or inside and enjoy a clear view of Denali. The property is decorated in a mash-up of bush pilot, mountain climber, skiing , and Hobbit-house with a Scandinavian flavor. It's clean and well appointed. There are a couple other buildings we didn't access/rent. We were there just one night and this was a neat place to rest. Definitely recommend.

Amazing port in the storm

The weather in Talkeetna was pretty rough while were there but we tried to get out & enjoy the area as much as we could, but it was absolutely delightful to have our out of the wild mountain house to come home to. It was warm, comfortable & spacious!
