Thank you for your kind words. Great having you stay here. Safe travels & we hope to host you again.
Gorgeous home and neighborhood, friendly host with incredible communication, 5 min away from downtown. WAY bigger than the pictures let on. It's kind of like a mother-in-law suite or a 1 bedroom apartment in a small building of apartments, so there are other people living there, but it's kind of fun to have people living there. It almost feels kind of like a private hostel, but one where you don't really have to interact with people if you don't want to. Quiet besides the occasional creaking of the floors (added to the charming, historical vibe) and the occasional, muffled bark or howl from two SUPER cute and friendly dogs outside (they looked straight out of a Disney movie where there's a couple of black, shaggy dogs who are loyal companions of the handsome, complicated, pirate main character--it was literally the cutest hearing them howl along when they heard a police car in the distance-- they were paid actors, I swear.) There's a ton of historical oddities and treasures throughout the main floors. The room is comfortable, cozy, and reminds you fondly of your great grandmas house.12/10 would recommend and will absolutely stay there again if I ever come out to Lincoln again in the future.

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Jake & Elwood say hi. Come back any time.
This beautiful house was the cozy nest we needed as we visited our dad in the hospital. Cynthia was so kind and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the house was quiet. We enjoyed seeing all of the art that showed the history of the house. The neighborhood has so many delightful old houses. We will be coming back to stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Cynthia Brammeier
We grew up primarily in Arizona and moved to Nebraska a few decades ago to be near family.
Why they chose this property
We love the Near South Neighborhood. It is full of historic homes and fabulous neighbors. We are active in the neighborhood, and enjoy being close to downtown, bike trails, and parks.
What makes this property unique
The Clark-Leonard House is one of the few Queen Anne style houses left in Lincoln. It has a mix of red brick, red stone, and a little stucco on the turret. It has been apartments since just after WWI. It has been in our family since 1993. We have done something to improve every room, and some rooms more than once. It's a labor of love.
