LOST RIVER BLACKBIRD – A SECLUDED A-FRAME ESCAPE IN THE WOODS
Welcome to Lost River Blackbird, our cherished A-frame cabin tucked away on 3 private wooded acres in the heart of the George Washington National Forest, 58,000 acres of untouched wilderness just beyond the property line. Located only 2 hours from Washington, DC, this is your peaceful getaway for family, friends, and even your pup (dogs only, max 2, $100 per pet).
INSIDE THE CABIN:
This classic A-frame is lined floor-to-ceiling in warm ponderosa pine and thoughtfully furnished with comfort in mind. The space features:
- A full kitchen stocked with all the essentials to truly cook: appliances, pots and pans, cooking basics, and a Ninja coffee station.
- Two cozy downstairs bedrooms with queen beds and direct access to the deck and hot tub.
- A lofted upstairs retreat with two full beds and a trundle, perfect for kids or extra guests.
- Two full bathrooms (one on each level).
- A bright and airy living room with soaring windows, a modern gas fireplace, and a sectional sofa for lounging.
- A large farmhouse-style dining table for family meals or game nights.
OUTSIDE THE CABIN:
Surrounded by towering pines and maples, the outdoor space invites you to slow down and savor the forest air. Enjoy:
- A wrap-around deck with comfy seating and serene forest views
- A six-person hot tub under the stars
- Weber gas grill and outdoor dining area
- Fire pit with Adirondack chairs for evening s’mores and stories
- Hammock for afternoon naps in the breeze
GUEST ACCESS:
You'll have the entire property to yourself, with easy self-check-in via keypad. While we’re not on-site, we’re always available by phone, email, or text should you need anything during your stay.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- Dogs are welcome (max 2, $100 per pet). No cats, please.
- The gravel driveway is accessible in all weather, though AWD is recommended in snow or icy conditions.
- We'll send detailed driving directions once your reservation is confirmed.
Whether you're here for a weekend hike, a quiet family retreat, or just to soak in the stillness of the woods, Lost River Blackbird is your perfect mountain escape.
