About the host
Your host
We’re Krysta & Tom—a husband-and-wife duo who turned our love for cozy spaces and meaningful hospitality into a thriving short-term rental business The Compass by T&K. What started as a dream to create our own West Virginia mountain escape has become our mission: helping fellow hosts and guests enjoy unforgettable stays. Whether you’re here to relax or explore the mountains, we’re excited to welcome you and share all the little details that make this place special!
Why they chose this property
Lost River is special because it still feels undiscovered. It’s a quiet mountain valley where life slows down, the nights are truly dark, and nature is the main attraction. Guests come here to unplug—whether that means hiking and exploring nearby trails, visiting small local spots, or simply sitting outside with a book and listening to the wind in the trees.
What makes this property unique
What makes our property unique is the intentional blend of privacy, comfort, and connection to nature. This home was designed as a true retreat—quiet, thoughtfully furnished, and set in a peaceful natural setting—so guests can fully unwind without distractions. From cozy indoor spaces to outdoor areas made for relaxing and stargazing, every detail supports a calm, restorative stay rather than a typical vacation rental experience.
