About the host

Our family is spread far and wide from Alaska to Arizona, Oregon, Texas Florida and New York. Our home in Alaska gives us the opportunity to go home and mingle together in a quiet, peaceful place that brings our family together. Spending time with Grandkids and allowing them to experience the freedom and wilderness wonderland we experienced as children and young adults is priceless.

Why they chose this property

Virginia Grew up next door to this property; fondly known as the Gehrke Homestead and has known the former owners for 50 years. Our family considers the Gehrkes to be family, we have shared many life experiences together and our mothers are good friends and neighbors to this day. Owning this home was a dream come true.

What makes this property unique

The Gehrke Homestead resides at the end of Knight Dr. Close to everything "town" but yet secluded and quiet; offering one of the most serene views and best fishing holes on the river. The Home built by the Gehrke family actually consists of two historical buildings that were bought by Vern Gehrke in the 70's when he decided to expand his home. The snow cone shack and the pancake house from Kenai were bought and moved to the property. Vern turned these into a warm and cozy home for his wife three daughters and mother in law. When you stay at our home you stay in a little piece of peninsula history.
