The best location on the Kenai River!

If you are looking for a home for a group larger than 10, the city of Soldotna has passed an ordanince that, in city limits, we can no longer accommodate groups larger than 10 people. Due to VRBO tax collection problems we will have to send you an additional fee of 10% to pay local taxes.

Located in the heart of Soldotna Alaska on the bank of the Kenai river. Sleeps 8 or more adults -Two master suites with baths, upstairs, Master 1 has a king size, pillow top mattress, and master two has a queen size pillow top mattress . Down stairs has two separate rooms with Queen beds and one shared bath. Home has all of the amenities needed, full kitchen, outdoor BBQ and laundry facilities. Enjoy the views of the river flowing past the house just feet away from the living room kitchen or the 1500 sq ft deck. Relax by the outdoor fire pit or enjoy your morning coffee under the covered deck as you take in the sights and sounds of the river. Watch eagles catch fish or perch on the trees in front of the house. Over 100' of private river front with 33' of fishing dock. Fish cleaning station is located right on the dock. Our family of 10 (consisting of 7 twenty somethings and 3 fifty somethings) had an amazing time at this spacious house conveniently located on the Kenai River. The check in process was easy; communication with Kevin and Jill was thorough and prompt. They came by the house on our first day for a few minutes and were really lovely to visit with. Fishing from the dock was so convenient and allowed us to catch so many more fish than we might have otherwise. The view from the deck was breathtaking, and we really enjoyed drinking our morning coffee or evening wine while watching the river flow by. The kitchen was fully stocked with most common (and some not so common) spices and condiments. The house is also convenient for grocery/shopping/ restaurants...The only "issue" we had was 6 people sharing one bathroom downstairs; that was easily remedied by people coming upstairs to use one of the other bathrooms... just less convenient. Overall, we had a great time with family and are already planning our next trip for 2027.

Great Location on Kenai! Family had fun relaxing - watching the bald eagles and fishing!! It is a lot of stairs - but worth the effort! Host was super responsive and the house/deck was great!

So Relaxing and spacious!

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. Kevin was a great host and had terrific communication with us. The house was so roomy and so cozy. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck and near the river. We were close to restaurants, grocery stores and breweries. Great for families and we would love to stay here again!

Kenai River Trip

What an amazing property, the photos do not do this location justice. Beautiful home with ample room for a large family. The fishing platform on the river is an amazing place to spend time. Especially when the Sockeye are in thick, like they were for our trip. :)

We had a group of 8 "seniors". The property fit our needs perfectly; the access to the wedding venue was very easy, the bedding was very comfortable and the view outstanding! Everything you could need

This place was amazing, the house had everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was far better stocked then most, it was very homey and comfortable. Lot's of inside space and the deck is just amazing, so many places to get comfortable and relax. And of course right on the beautiful Kenai, we really couldn't have asked for more!!

Very impressive!!

The house was great and lived up to all the online photos and our expectations. The owners were super nice and helpful. We made our reservation a year in advance and over that time our group of 14 (8 adults and 6 kids) had plenty of questions. They were always answered quickly and in detail. I can't thank Kevin and Jill enough for making a vacation for this many people and from so far away (central Florida) such a great experience.

This is our honey hole, shhhh its a secret...

Our first impression was fantastic and it never changed...we got to meet Kevin and Jill and they were so nice and helpful. .They told us all the things we needed to know and showied us around. They probably were a little worried because we had such a big group but I made sure my group left things like they found them...and treated this fantastic home like it was their own ..This house was a home away from home...with everything you would ever need. Kevin and Jill have put so much love and hard work in this property and it was fun looking at before and after pictures...The fishing dock was awesome and fishing was the best we have ever had on any of our trips...The property was very well maintained and the self watering system kept everything beautiful. We had plenty of sleeping space and we had 12 total people. The weather was so nice we cooked outside and ate out on the deck watching the beautiful river. This property is so fantastic I hate to write this review, because I will probably never get to book again...Town is so close you have access to everything.. .but yet you never feel like you are in town when you are at the house. The neighbors were nice and the town of Soldotna is very interesting, we went to the museum and were lucky enough to see wood carving and all the fun activities during progress days. We fished in Homer and there was enough freezer space to store our halibut until we left the house. We also caught so many salmon we ate fish most every night....and we could have fresh eggs every morning if we knew where the pet chicken layed them...we loved her....They also left a few poles for us to fish with which was a great help so we didn't have to buy but a couple. The Fraleys have put a lot of thought in having everything a person would need right at your finger tips..my only negative thing to say is we did not have enough time to use every wonderful thing they had for us to use......we had a big group with ages from 12 years to 75 years and plenty for all to do.....and the title they use ..The best location on the Kenai River is spot on...Kevin and Jill, Thank you very much for everything.....your home is beautiful and we loved our stay.....

Bucket list trip to the Kenai Peninsula

The owners have obviously given a lot of thought to hosting guests. The home suited our family’s (of 10, aged 7 to 73) needs very well. We caught Sockeye directly off the dock and enjoyed some family meals on the expansive deck. The location allowed us some great adventures around the Peninsula.

Family fishing trip.

Excellent property with a great owner! Easily the best VRBOs I’ve stayed at. It was well equipped with everything you could ever want or need for an Alaskan salmon fishing trip. Fishing off the dock was a bit tricky for some in the group but we caught plenty of fish.

Home away from home in Soldotna on the Kenai River.!

The home was perfect for our group of 10. The home and property were well attended and we all felt comfortable there. An unusual storm blew in where 7-15 foot waves were predicted on the ocean, which kept us from going halibut fishing one day. During this storm, trees were blown down in Soldotna and surrounding area, leaving a large power outage. Our group is from Idaho and we could manage without electicity while wating for the power company to get to our area. Once the owner and his wife realized it was not going to be restored within the day, they came to the home we were renting immeidately. Putting a plan in action to make us as comfortable as possible. They brought a generator and extra necessitites. Within 24 hours the power was up and going. It was a delight to meet them. We will be going back to Alaska. Good times with friends and family....and fun fishing for Kings, silvers, halibut, rockfish, ect. One of the funnest trips we have ever taken.

Family Memories Made on the Kenai

What a wonderful stay our family party of six had at the Fraley’s home on the Kenai River. The home has a spacious, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, a spacious family room, and large deck, with several areas to sit and enjoy the river view. We enjoyed the propane heater on the deck and the large, gas grill. The house is well-situated in a quiet neighborhood in Soldotna with easy access to stores and highways. Our fishermen enjoyed fishing for salmon for the first time. They are skilled fishermen in the Midwest, but fishing for salmon was a challenge, if you follow the fishing regulations on limits and snagging fish. The dock area by the Kenai River is as described, including excellent railings up the steps from the river, but be aware that there are sixty, steep steps from the dock to the house. The kitchen and two main bedrooms and family room are all on one level which was very convenient for us. However, the main level is only accessible via the deck or through the downstairs level. This was difficult for one of our older family members. Kevin communicated so well with us. He called us before our stay to make sure we understood how to get there and answered any questions we had about the home. Since we were arriving late into the evening, he even made sure that outside lights were left on, so we could locate the house easily. We appreciated the helpful hints and expectations he left in a binder at the house. No wonder the house is in such excellent shape. We appreciate the care that the Fraleys take to maintain such a gem on the Kenai!

The perfect place to get away. We are right on the best part of the Kenai River! The beauty is beyond explanation. So many things to do... Fishing, cooking, eating, relaxing, napping, kayaking, hiking, and so much more!! There is no need to drive anywhere, everything is right here at your front door! Make a picnic lunch and make a fire in the fire pit. Watch the eagles pick fish right out of the water from the kitchen window, the living room or the deck. Catch salmon (in season) or trout all year long. This is a great place to bring your whole family with plenty of room to spare! 1 King and 3 queen beds and lots of couch and floor space too! Laundry and freezer space are on site too.
