Are you ready for some peace and quiet? Perhaps what you really want to do is read on the porch while the kids explore the backyard? Look no further. We have the answer. Lovely Little Doe Lodge offers a quiet mountain setting in every season. Inside enjoy WIFI, cable TV, a well-equipped kitchen and multiple TV's. Outside it is a very quick ride to Canaan Valley, White Grass or Timberline and offers easy access to Dolly Sods, Spruce Island Lake and all of our Tucker County treasures. Bring your favorite 4-legged friend along. With just a small fee, Little Doe Lodge is pet-friendly!

Little Doe Lodge was a great stay for my family ski trip to the local Mountains. Plenty of room to spread out, great location between Timberline and Canaan Valley and most amenities you'd expect for a rental. A big plus, plenty of good fire wood stacked right outside the front door! A minus, furniture was very dated and visibly stained.

Great time in Timberline !

We really enjoyed this property. It was everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. The location was perfect. We got lucky with some fantastic snow and great skiing conditions for the whole family. Highly recommend this place and we hope to be back soon.

Beds are a bit hard for our liking. The cabin had all the needed amenities. Staff was very nice and easy to work with. Extremely disappointing that they could take my $1,000 deposit on a moments notice but tell me up to 10-14 days to return it it to me.

A wonderful place to rest (and work)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was visiting Canaan Valley for a conference and stayed in the cabin so that I could bring my dog along for the trip. Great choice! The house was very conveniently located near the gated entrance and it took less than 15 minutes to get to the park. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the kitchen and comfortable space. The deck provided a terrific place to relax and watch the leaves change. The property management company could not be more helpful.

Ski Weekend

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was close to Timberline, it was only 5 minutes away! That was probably the best thing about the house. There is a set of bunk beds and a queen bed in every bedroom. The dining table was big enough to fit a good group of people. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of plates, glasses, etc. The house could have been a little cleaner, the blanket on the couch was covered in dog hair. It was perfectly adequate as a place to come back to after a long day of skiing.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Little Doe Lodge was a perfect find for our annual family vacation! The property and available amenities were outstanding, you didn't want for anything! The management company had excellent customer service and was able to replace our outside grill within minutes of my calling. There was plenty of room for 9 of us stay and even gave everyone some alone time if needed. We were minutes away from Blackwater Falls, plenty of hiking locations and sightseeing areas. The only thing that was a little rough is the mattresses were very hard to sleep on. They were not very comfortable. All and all we had an excellent time and will definitely be coming back again!

Little Doe Lodge

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: WE are frequent visitors to the Canaan Valley and have stayed at many different rental units over the years. Little Doe Lodge (7/24/24 -7/29/24) is the most disappointing rental for the following reasons:Upon arrival several cats came running to the front door trying to get into the property. This continued throughout our entire stayNone of the TVs in the 3 bedrooms workedThe electric stove burners worked sometimes - some did not work at allThe deck is in terrible condition rotting, splintered wood and peeling paintThe overall cleanliness of the Unit is bad. Couch cushions are very stained, cobwebs hanging from light fixtures, stained carpet throughout.I called Best of Canaan to discuss our concerns about this property. I was told the Owner would call me back but that has not happened.This is also disappointing for a professional business. I do not recommend this rental property. Repairs, updates and attention to the property are sorely needed Little Doe Lodge should be removed from the list of rental properties until changes are made

Great ski vacation

Normally, with children and grandchildren we have 12. This time only 4, so had plenty of space. The first day it was to cold to ski, we used the Old Hickory free standing fire place/stove; the cabin stayed nice and warm even though it was 5 degrees outside. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare family meals. Decore was rustic and had tons of appeal. Ensure you bring chains in the winter, driveway is steep and icy. Host is great

Good for family weekend.

The table on the deck was too dirty to use.

Nice open layout for socializing and making family meals. No musty or perfume smells, which is important for us. Nice back porch that would be great for hanging out in the summer. Nice wood burner with plenty of dry hardwood provided.

Little Doe is great for kids, convenient to all the winter activities, and had everything we needed. We also like Little Doe in the winter because it is not very far up in the Timberline community which makes it easier for our non 4WD minivan to navigate to in the snow.

Comfortable Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Little Doe was perfect. The house is comfortable and cozy, yet spacious enough for a few families. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. There was firewood ready for the fireplace (great perk to not have to run out and purchase logs). Everything was clean and in good working order. The house is almost fully carpeted which makes it great for young kids. The location is very close to White Grass and Canaan Valley Resort and easily accessible to all Davis and Thomas have to offer. I highly recommend Little Doe.

Not bad peaceful

The pictures are deceiving they show very new clean up to date items . But the furniture and beds were very worn out not comfortable But overall it was restful and quiet which is what we needed. Everything was closed around us except the convienance store and the bbq restaurant (which was not good)

Great Location.

We could not stay at this property due to some issues with cable and internet. Best of Canaan gave us another rental to stay. Great company. The new location was great. I think because it was last minute I forgot to tell not PET property. The new property had lots of dog hair . It’s expected for houses with pets policy. Anyway, I do recommend to rent from Best of Canaan. Great service .

Quiet place away from home

Great resort location in the foothills of the mountains. Excellent place to get away from its all. Property turned out to be more dated inside then advertised online and could use renovations and updates from furniture to appliances. But the price is fair and place is in a very good location.

Have stayed at better places by Best of Canaan.

This by far is one of the worst homes/cabins I have ever rented. For reference, I live in a log cabin. This was is a glorified hunting cabin. The house smells of wet molded, the wall are nailed up 4x8 sheets of ply wood, the back screen door is duct taped in, and some of the fixtures are falling apart. This is NOT a Premier Host rental. The rental says no smoking and there are cigarettes butts all over the back yard. There was even an empty cigarette box in the grill on the back porch. The photographer that took the photos did an amazing job of over exposing the photos to hide the dark and dank look of this hunting shed of a house. Also, you may want to mention somewhere that there is NOT A/C. I would never recommend this house to anyone and am shocked at all the good reviews this place has on your site. I will definitely be giving an honest review and make sure to let people know the true conditions of this place. When we checked out, I said I was disappointed in the cabin and the lady behind the counters response was, well it's a cabin.

There are 3 things that can be approved on. 1: Not enough hot water for 9 people. 2: No place to put groceries. 3: Not enough utensils ie.... Forks Knives spoons sharp knives for meat also very few cooking utensils. Last but not lease it is very dusty from the road.
