My girls and I stayed in this cabin as the majority of our family stayed in a cabin nearby for a family reunion. Perfect place to stay for the week. Had everything we needed.

Thank you Michelle! Hope you will come back again.
The view to the lake through autumn leaves was awesome. Bear Paw Community is friendly and very peaceful. My dog and I walked all over, she seldom had to come and be leashed up for traffic. Deer, chipmunks, squirrels. The interior looks as advertised, minus rugs and plus slipcovers which might be because we were traveling with a dog. Kitchen is reasonably stocked - seasonings, extras. No cooking oil and sorry, w/ the price of EVOO, I didn't leave it behind! Thirty plus minutes to the store.

Thank you, Andrew! Keep us in mind for your next kids free weekend! :)
Sweet place to stay with plenty of room, 2 decks overlooking woods and lake. Quiet streets for long walks with or without dogs. Lake access is limited but we did take our kayaks down to the Marina and had some nice paddles out onto the lake. Recommended place to stay!
The house itself is very nice and equipped with anything you might need, but the best feature is the view from the screen porch. You can see the lake. Not a clear view but beautiful through the tree tops. I've never been anywhere so quiet. All we heard were birds and an occaisonal boat. The wifi was down and cell service is very spotty, but a blessing to get away from there. Can't wait to return.
Great off the grid experience. If you're looking to detach from your fast paced life this is the cabin for you.
Only drawback was the marina opened later in the season than expected.
Great cabin! Very well stocked!! Quiet location made for great relaxing conversations on the screened porch. Very clean and very comfortable. The owner was very easy to work with, with timely responses. I would love to come back! The entire party agreed it was a great find!

The porch was a favorite to hang out listening to nature and music.
The lake made a beautiful view with the sunrise and sunset. Definitely want to stay again.
Sheree is a wonderful host as we arrived early and she was very accommodating. Thank you dear lady!

Relaxing
Had a great stay! Grill was not lighting but with feedback from owner we figured it out, very quite setting and relaxing! Was nice not to have cable for a change, allowed me some relaxation and catch up on reading! Best to meal prep as nearest restaurant is 30-40 minutes away, as was noted by owner!

We are so excited that we have found Morning Glory Cottage. It is beautiful. Owners have thought of just about everything. It is so comfortable and warm and inviting! The views from the decks are beautiful, both the lake and the mountains. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is perfectly equipped. We look forward to the next opportunity we have to head to the mountains.

Wonderful place to spend a long weekend away from the hustle and bustle.
Beautiful, cozy home on the mountain, with a wonderful lake view from a perfect screened in porch. The home is well equipped and furnished. Community pool and marina nearby. Great place for quiet walks. Cute little town of Murphy is about 35 minutes away - restaurants, antiques, gift shops and the beautiful River Walk. Come prepared to stay in and unwind or to take a drive into town to wander a bit. Wonderful owners willing to accommodate their guests.

Joan, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to have you again!
I’ve been traveling to the N Ga Mountains for years and never knew about this community. I would advise anyone who wants some peace and quiet to choose your cabin. The views are beautiful, both inside and out. The description and pictures given in the listing do not bring justice to what your eyes will see. My family and I look forward to returning.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is there was a miscommunication and the property wasn’t cleaned from previous guests when we arrived. However, the owner was Betty responsive and was able to get a house keeper out there that evening. Other than that, it was a great place to stay!

From the minute you walk in you feel at home. Special touches throughout the house make you feel at home. Great views of the lake. Plush towels and nice clean bedding. Screened in porch is so relaxing. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook a meal. Has updated furniture and appliances. Easy drive from the Bear Paw Gate. Owner is always available if you need anything. Thank you for a beautiful weekend. We will be back soon...

Angie, we are so grateful you picked Morning Glory to celebrate your daughters graduation! Congratulations again to you both, we hope to have you again soon!
Before I get to the property I’d like to start off with the owner and how amazing she was during my 1st Vrbo process. Super helpful no matter what I threw at her. Now on to the property. Not 1 bad thing I can say about it. Rooms were nice and clean. Two separate living areas were a bonus. The decor was beautiful I wanted to take lots but I left it for the next person to enjoy 😉. We will definitely use this again on future trips.

Beautiful Property
We enjoyed our stay at Morning Glory Cottage very much. Our bed downstairs was so comfortable that I told my husband I was sorry I hadn't looked to see what brand it was, and our children said they slept well also. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well-equipped. The only suggestion I would make would be to update the electric skillet as our bacon stuck really bad - or even just a larger skillet for the stove top would be fine. The common spaces were very cozy and the throws were a welcome touch. We didn't use the movies but noticed there was a nice selection of those and books as well. The views from the porches were very pretty and we even saw a red fox one morning. Overall just a lovely stay!

Thank you Elaine! So glad you had a wonderful stay! We want to keep improving and your suggestions help us so much! I don't know how we missed an electric skillet. That's a must have! Please come again soon!
Just spent two weeks at Morning Glory Cottage. 6 of us
Plenty of sleeping and living space. Having two living rooms was certainly a plus. The outdoor space/ The screened in patio was nice on the cool mornings and cool evenings.
The owner was attentive and responsive to needs.
The kitchen was well stocked. Nice gas stove. Nice grill on the porch.
We were also a short walk away from a beautiful sunset view over the mountains. Also the view of the lake was nice.
The only thing to be aware of is if you go with a large group the dishwasher is very small. So be prepared to wash dishes if you cook.
Had a blast. Can’t wait to go back.

About the host
Hosted by Sheree Crowe
Hello! We are a mother (Sheree) daughter (Stacey) team and we live in the Atlanta area. We work hard managing our work and family. We especially enjoy our down time with family and friends.
Morning Glory is truly our happy place and our respite from work, school and "busy" lives.
Why they chose this property
Our family has enjoyed vacationing in Bear Paw and on Lake Hiwassee since 2004 when my brother and his wife bought a house on the lake. Later they built a house to rent and later sold. Then in 2016 my dad and brothers built a family vacation home
In 2017 during a family reunion in Bear Paw we learned this house was for sale by owner. We peeped in the windows, prayed about it and called the owners. It didn't take long for the four of us - Sheree & Clint, Stacey & Mike - to decide it was the right time and the right property. October 2017 it became our dream. We immediately began sprucing up this sweet home that had been empty for years as a retreat for young and old to rest and rejuvenate. Stacey named her Morning Glory Cottage.
What makes this property unique
Because Clint and I have parents who were not able to easily climb stairs the first thing to draw us to Morning Glory was the stepless entry. Bear Paw is in the mountains so most houses require a lot of stairs and steep inclines to the house. At Morning Glory, you can drive to the front door and there is one little ramp step into the house. Super easy for unloading too.
We also love that the main level has 2 bedrooms (king and queen), full bath with walk-in shower, den, kitchen and our very, very favorite - full-length screen porch. This allowed our parents (and some day us) to enjoy a nice vacation with ease.
Speaking of screen porch... the views of the lake and the mountains reminded us of sitting in a treehouse when we were young... without the climbing or swaying parts :-)
In 2022, we renovated the lower level to expand the media room so now there are 2 very comfortable areas for watching movies, playing games and sitting outside to enjoy the quiet views.
Bear Paw is a quiet, secluded community where you just hear the trees rustle in the summer and occasionally a boat passing on the lake. When real life gets so loud and you just need to be quiet and rest, come stay with us!
