This property was the perfect place to stay for my husband and 2 young children. We appreciated the easy beach access and the cottage was clean, cool and comfortable for our family. Communication with property management was also incredibly prompt and thorough.

Perfect Beachfront Cottage
This was our 3rd summer staying at this cottage and absolutely love it. It has just about everything you will need and it's in a perfect location to go do/see things for small children. We had a great time just hanging out on the beach for the day.
Nice secluded spot with a gorgeous view of the lake. The chairs on the high ground overlooking the beach were well placed. The cottage was cozy with everything we needed. Would definitely come back.

Absolutely Stunning location
This is our 2nd year staying at the Sandpiper house. The house was absolutely perfect had everything we needed for our stay. The beach was wondering for playing and building sandcastles with our littles. We had a great time and look forward to booking next year. Only suggestion is to have larger mats by both doors to help catch the sand.
The cottage is colorful and cozy and was just perfect for two of us! We enjoyed the views, the fire pit and beach. We had sunny days and rainy days- beautiful no matter the weather! We had cake by the lake for my 60th birthday!! On our final morning, while we enjoyed one last walk on the beach, we found ourselves under a full rainbow… Just magical!!
**Disclaimer for anyone staying in 2025** they are building a house next door & start at 7 am during the weekdays - otherwise SUPER peaceful, GREAT neighbors - friendly beachmates. (so only 4 stars)House is exactly as pictured. I value the owners have taken previous reviews & attend to them - shades on windows, TV, etc. That pullout couch is wonderful! NO bar in your back- it's a 3 panel platform so it's solid and decent foam pad. Only complaint is that this place is small & quaint, and the cleaning fee seems overly steep.

Beautiful Getaway
Really enjoyed our three night stay at this little gem. Booked it for my husband's birthday surprise and it did not disappoint. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The star of the show is the deck that overlooks the water. We spent our mornings and some afternoons out there enjoying the view and taking in the sights and sounds of Lake Michigan. There is also a nice beach area below if you are ready to take on the sand. The firepit was also wonderful at night. Loved listening to the waves while enjoying the coziness of the fire. Would definitely rent again if we get the chance.

Just wonderful!
We just returned home after spending the weekend in Sandpiper. To us, it was a dream come true...being at a cottage right on Lake Michigan. The weekend was a gift from our children celebrating our recent retirements. We enjoyed the sunshine, beach and sunsets. Everything you would need was provided except towels and linens. It is very well decorated in beautiful colors. We will be promoting your cottages to our friends and family.

Adorable light-filled cabin on top of seagrass dune
We had a great weekend at this adorable little cabin. The public space is spacious and light filled and there is everything there that you need to enjoy yourself comfortably. It reminded us of cabins we have stayed at in Norway, where it is common to have small sleeping areas and more spacious public areas. The beds are comfy and the showers inside and out are great. The beach is a short walk down some stairs and is everything you would expect for a beautiful lake Michigan private beach. The cabin is set back a little bit, so you can see the water from inside but not the shoreline. There is a separate little viewing patio with some comfortable chairs that affords a great view down the sand. The fire ring and chairs are lovely. We loved it and would definitely return!
I have cancer and was informed three days prior to arrival that I needed emergency surgery. I contacted the property management group, Evolve, on what was happening. I had no control over the surgery schedule. Initially they indicated that I could move my reservation, but after multiple calls made on my end, they couldn't get a hold of the property owner to move my reservation and ultimately ghosted me. I lost the entire cost of the trip.

Christina, thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We apologize that, due to a change in ownership of this home that occurred shortly before your stay, we missed the mark. We're looking into what we can do to make this right, so please keep an eye out for communications from us!
this was a such a great location. the view was stunning. the house worked perfect. we had the beach to ourselves. the house became very hot with direct sun in the big room in the afternoon hours, we opened the doors and shut the lower blinds but the sun was blinding and it was hard to be in there- after the first day we opted ot be outside at that time! the cart by the parking space was very helpful to carry our stuff back and forth. I wish there was more rocks on the beach to look at but we have never encountered softer sand and seriously we had the beach to ourselves. the beds are very firm- the outdoor shower is sooo helpful washing sand off- there was a musty/moldy smell by the air conditioner- which I left a note for the property owners- we didnt need to contact anyone, but all in all a bit confused who the point person would be for this listing, the binder had a couple differnt people listed who were different than here on vrbo where we booked. again didnt need to reach out for any reason but I guess I wouldve messaged on here first and see where I got, check in was super easy- I didnt see the other cottage listing when I was looking booking last year, perhaps it was already taken on the dates I was looking but i do think linking them in the listing would be helpful in case people were interested in booking both. the other cottage is on property but at a distance so while we had other neighbors we only saw them when we walked to our car or also at the beach.
My first stay at this property was in 2021 for two weeks and was fantastic. But there were a lot of small things, mainly pertaining to the lack of thoroughness by the cleaning company, that needed improvement. The location, the privacy, the views, the big updates to the cottage were and are fantastic. Fast forward to 2022, and all those little things that needed attention last year had been done. Cottage this time around was very very organized and very clean.… Even under furniture. A lot of small things were done to continue to update how the cottage looks and feels, for example, new linens and pillows on the beds, more organized kitchen cupboards with no leftover, half used junk in them. The big screen TV, now upgraded with cable, is a huge plus. Just a few minor things this year, such as burnt out lightbulbs and the stove needing fresh tin foil on the burners. Details. 😁 Guess I’m particular, but this cottage is not cheap. Worth every penny, though, because of all the main positives mentioned about. Grateful the owners are sharing their beach-side oasis! Here’s to 2023!
We spent a wonderful week on a secluded dune cottage overlooking Lake Michigan. We enjoyed the beach, sunsets, and campfires while listening to the waves.
Absolutely the best! We stayed for 4 days with our 3 yr old and an 8 month old. This little cottage had everything we needed for our stay! We only had to bring our food and beach towels. It was clean and the kitchen had everything you would need. The views are amazing and beach was perfect for our 3 year old to play. The pictures were too good to be true, but turns out it was true. Can't wait to schedule our stay for next summer.
We did a lot of research to find a fair priced beach cottage that had privacy, marvelous views of the lake, steps from the cottage to the stairs down to the beach, and forest all around. This little cottage with its interior renovations and floor to ceiling windows was marvelous. We stayed two weeks and really lived into the place. We have already signed up for two weeks next year. Owners were very responsive and eager to be helpful. Better attention to detail is needed regarding neatness from the cleaning crew and thus the four stars on cleanliness, although we wish we had the option to give a 4.5. But we feel with all the positives, particularly the beautiful setting and views, our overall rating is a 5 star.
This was a great vacation- house at Lake Michigan- with everything we could need. Our fun never ended- even after a day out at the beach (duck lake, Pere Marquette, Muskegon state park), sandboarding at silver lake, Michigan adventure amusement park, downtown, luge/zip line/archery/hiking at state park, or gokarting, we’d come home and find ourselves at the beach again. The host was very responsive.
Loved the cottage and the scenery was breathtaking. Everything was as described and with just a few questions (which got answered right away). Very relaxing.

Lovely
Excellent location and very clean rental. Also Fulfilled request to ventilate the cottage before we arrived as another precaution for covid concerns. Planning on returning again next year!
