Our host was extremely accommodating and the place was like living a Jungle Book moment. Would stay again. The local area has lots to see and do including some great restaruants for Breaky, Lunch and Dinner.

Heavenly Oasis. Felt like having a resort all to ourselves!

Beautiful, spacious, clean. From the monkeys hollering overhead while relaxing in the pool at dusk to the other native species making their daily trek in front of the house, we felt like the animals in the cage at the zoo while the animals checked us out! The caretaker, Trixie, lives on the property but you only see her if you need to! She's gracious and helpful. Responded immediately to the couple of "Costa Rica" home tricks we needed to learn. We would stay here again if we come back. It's also perfectly located to venture out in any direction to explore the area.

Overall incredible stay in everyway!

I cannot say enough great things about this house, the housekeeper, and the stay overall! The house and property grounds are stunning! The house is tucked in the back of the property so it's very quiet and private, surrounded by beautiful nature. It is beautiful with lots of space, great architecture, plenty of closet space, a kitchen stocked with every utensil and item that could be needed, a laundry room with an additional sink, huge covered outdoor seating areas, and so much more. The pool is private and steps away from the front door, and very well kept. You will wake up and see monkeys, macaws, many birds, lizards, and more everyday! The pictures just begin to show how beautiful the house and property grounds are.The housekeeper is beyond amazing and truly a great person! She was very attentive, each morning she made sure the pool was clean and laid out fresh towels. She was extremely helpful with information about town and much more if needed. She keeps to herself and absolutely respects privacy, but she is an incredible person to have a conversation with. She is full of soul, wisdom, kindness, and an infinite respect and love for nature and animals. She will open your heart and mind, while being just as accommodating to whatever is needed to make your stay as comfortable as possible.The village of Cabuya is small but has all general needs: restaurants, a bakery, a market, ATV rental, and a great boat tour company. This is a must stay! We will be back! PURA VIDA!

The good and the not so good

We stayed here for 6 nights mid-January. The house is beautiful! Lots of space both indoors and outdoors for relaxing. Trixie, the caretaker of the house, was a very nice lady and quick to respond if we had any issues. But now the not so good. The kitchen is listed as fully equipped. Not really...there was no toaster, no microwave and very little silverware. The lighter for the gas stove was not working and Trixie gave us a small lighter to use. Oven not working. The picture for the listing is a bit deceiving. The pool is not at the rental house, it's at Trixie's house next door. We did have it to ourselves all the time though. You have to like animals to stay here....a lot of cats around that come to visit. And Trixie has a small animal rescue on her property, so barking dogs was a bit of an issue at times. Overall, we did have a wonderful time here and enjoyed our stay.

Nous avons réservé la veille et avons eut de la difficulté de communiquer avec l’hôte. Aucun retour sur mes messages. J’ai dû communiquer avec VRBO qui eux ont réussis à la rejoindre. L’indication Google map s’arrêtait avant la propriété et, étant à l’arrière d’une autre propriété, impossible de voir. Au niveau de la propriété, Toiles d’araignées, planchers sales, vaisselles, odeur de cigarette dans les chambres, sans air climatisé etc. Le point fort, le site. À travers les singes, la végétation, cet endroit nous dépayse instantanément. Sur place, l’hôte et amies de l’hôte ont été très gentilles.

Great stay! In the wild!

Exactly what was anticipated! A beautiful open house with a lot of wild activity around! We loved the cats and monkeys are impressive in the morning! Very nice place for a retreat and forget about stress.

Beautiful Paradise in the middle of the jungle

The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchen has everything; a blender, wok, even a crepe pan! Monkeys and Acuties ( a cute little brown creature) came to visit and the bird songs are out of this world. This tranquil house is private, a clean big pool there and only 5 minutes to beach to watch the most amazing sun rise. Our host Trixi was like an angel- always making sure we are happy. The kittens were adorable and added much sweetness to our stay. We will definitely come back!

Pure Costa Rica experience! The town was quaint and the locals were great!

The house was pure Costa Rica goodness! The house was secure and Trixy the property owner made sure we were comfortable and fully taken care of! We recommend renting the ATVs in town to get around and make sure to eat in town...best meal ever!!! The pool was clean and we swam during the day and night. We are looking forward to coming back again to enjoy the locals, howler monkeys, and much more!
