We really enjoyed our two night stay. It is a lovely place. The views were peaceful. The place was in a great location and not too far from activities or Olympic NP. They had all the amenities we could need and snacks available. We would stay there again.
Excellent accommodations and kind and thoughtful hosts. I would recommend the cottage without reservations to anyone. We loved all the little extras, the beautiful setting, the convenience being close to Olympic National Park and the wildlife at the property - deer and quail. We had a great time.
This is such a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful, peaceful, perfect accommodations. Bed was comfortable, water was hot. The nightly quails and deer were icing on the cake.
Our stay was exceptionally comfortable and relaxing. We really appreciated all the attention paid to the little details like cozy blankets, coffee for the morning, and even some light snacks when we arrived. The accommodations were comfortable, and we will definitely try to come back for some more exploring of the area. Keeping our fingers crossed that this property will be available to us. What a gem!
Wonderful stay at this property! The owners were friendly and the place was beautiful. Located close to some beautiful beaches as well. Not too far from town(15 minutes) but far enough to be very quiet. Bonus note is the water from the tap tastes great, and it is from a local mountain source. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone.
The cottage was cozy with so many artistic touches to the design and decor. The area is glorious, between visits to the Freshwater bay beach, the Lower Elwa River bird sanctuary, Salt Creek & Tongue point (2x's), the Macaw Heritage center and museum (the road to Neah Bay is very winding and narrow, almost perfect for a motorcycle ride), Cape Flattery (Gorgeous!), Lake Cresent and Olympic National Forest, We had a very fun and busy 4 night stay!Looking north, across the straight, at Canada with the cargo ships floating past, especially at sunset, from the upstairs bedroom window, was a nice way to end a busy day!The one thing I wished there was more of was spices for cooking. So I would recommend bringing the spices you wish to cook with beyond salt and pepper. The hosts were kind and attentive and left us to our privacy, (As they live in the house next door), unless we approached them, then they were very kind.We would love to stay there again!
Fantastic little cottage! Perfect for a romantic weekend with your dog. The owners live right next door. They are incredibly accommodating and helpful. You will have full privacy and if you need anything, they will help you out right away. Cottage has everything you might need as far as basic needs. Even olive oil, spices and coffee! Little fenced yard as well. The property is located in a very quiet place, about 15 min drive to civilization. The bed was very comfortable and that’s super hard to find! If you don’t want to drive to town for breakfast and coffee, bring your own to cook! We had a whole family of deer hang out right out front!
This was super cute and well hosted. Sam and Bill are fantastic and helpful. They answer every question really quickly. The details put into this cottage were perfect to help you enjoy your stay and outdoor adventures. Their property was more than we hoped for. It was packed with deer and birds happily going about their day. At the beach up the road we saw a river otter playing around in the bay.
We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was so comfortable and the location was perfect.

About the host
Hosted by Sam Calhoun
Hi, I’m Sam! Bill and I live in the Pacific Northwest with our enthusiastic co-hosts, Stella and Odie. We love exploring, cooking great food, cozy evenings, and sharing our favorite corners of the Olympic Peninsula with guests. Whether you’re here for adventure or downtime, we hope our cottage becomes your favorite home away from home.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood for its peaceful, woodsy charm and easy access to everything we love. It’s quiet, scenic, and close to beaches, trails, local cafes, and Olympic National Park. Our dogs love the easy walk to the beach—especially when there’s a chance to swim. Our favorite evenings are spent around the fire pit, enjoying the trees and the changing sky. It’s the perfect blend of calm retreat and outdoor adventure.
What makes this property unique
Our cottage offers privacy, quiet, and a sense of space that’s hard to find. It’s a standalone building surrounded by trees - no shared walls, no traffic noise. Large windows and French doors let in natural light and connect the indoors with the surrounding greenery.
Inside, the layout is simple and comfortable: a fully equipped kitchen, a relaxed living area with a wood stove, and an upstairs bedroom with a king bed and vaulted ceilings. Guests appreciate the understated design, natural wood finishes, and the calm feeling of being away from town while still only a short drive from Port Angeles and Olympic National Park.
It's an easy place to settle in, slow down, and enjoy some peace and quiet.
