About this property

Pipes Canyon Homestead · Hot Tub, Views, 5 Acres

Summary:

Pipes Canyon Homestead is a restored family home on five acres with unobstructed views of Pipes Canyon. The old carport hangar is now a string-lit dining space for 12, and the open grounds invite afternoons of horseshoes, giant Jenga, and cooling off in the seasonal cowboy tub. With a six-person hot tub, a fire pit, and sweeping desert scenery, this is a place to slow down, settle in, and make an evening of staying home.

The Space:

Passed down through generations of one family, Pipes Canyon Homestead retains the character of a genuine desert homestead. Exposed timber beams, wood-planked ceilings, substantial leather furniture, and rustic details give the interiors a warmth that feels collected over time. The fully renovated kitchen brings modern convenience to the original home's easygoing atmosphere, while the connected living spaces make it natural to cook, talk, and relax together.

The home is especially well suited to families or small groups who enjoy having room to spread out without losing that sense of togetherness. Two bedrooms with their own bathrooms offer comfortable privacy, while the generous outdoor spaces give everyone a reason to linger a little longer.

-Highlights-

► Six-person hot tub with desert views

► 8-foot cowboy tub, available April through October

► Unobstructed panoramic views of Pipes Canyon

► Five acres of open desert with horseshoes and giant Jenga

► Converted carport hangar with string lights and outdoor dining for 12

► Propane fire pit and BBQ grill

► Restored family homestead with exposed wood beams

► Fireplace, 55-inch smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, and board games

► Fully renovated and equipped kitchen with drip coffee maker and French press

► Two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, including a clawfoot bathtub

► Two portable twin pull-out beds for additional sleeping arrangements

► Starlink Wi-Fi and mini-split heating and air conditioning

-Outdoor Amenities-

The landscape is a defining part of staying here. Five acres of native desert vegetation, Joshua trees, and rolling hills surround the homestead, with unobstructed views across Pipes Canyon. Spend an afternoon exploring the grounds, playing horseshoes or giant Jenga, or simply enjoying the changing light over the mountains.

The six-person hot tub is positioned to take advantage of those views, making it an inviting place to unwind after exploring the desert. Nearby, the 8-foot cowboy tub offers a refreshing way to cool off during warmer months. This is a traditional above-ground cowboy tub, not an in-ground swimming pool, and it is drained and unavailable from November through March.

One of the property's most distinctive features is its former carport hangar, thoughtfully repurposed into an open-air dining area. Beneath the covered structure, a long table seats 12 under strands of warm lights. Fire up the propane BBQ, bring dinner outside, and enjoy the kind of unhurried meal that rarely happens at home. Afterward, move to the propane fire pit for conversation as the evening settles over the canyon.

-Living Area-

Inside, the living room feels comfortably rooted in the homestead's history. Heavy wooden beams cross the ceiling, a large timber-framed mirror anchors the room, and rich leather sofas invite everyone to make themselves at home. Southwestern textiles and rustic furnishings add character without sacrificing comfort.

The fireplace makes this a welcoming gathering place on cooler desert evenings, whether you're sharing stories, playing board games, or settling in with a book. A 55-inch smart TV and Bluetooth speaker provide entertainment when it's time to stay indoors. The room connects directly with the kitchen, keeping the main gathering spaces open and sociable.

-Kitchen and Dining-

The renovated kitchen is both practical and welcoming, with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, generous preparation space, and everything needed to prepare meals together. A stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, blender, cookware, dishes, and utensils make it easy to move from a quick breakfast to a relaxed dinner.

Coffee drinkers can choose between a drip coffee maker and a French press, with coffee, sugar, creamer, and a selection of teas provided. Spices and olive oil are also stocked for cooking.

While the kitchen handles the preparation, the converted hangar is where meals become an occasion. With seating for 12 and desert scenery just beyond the table, it's an especially enjoyable setting for shared breakfasts, afternoon snacks, and leisurely dinners beneath the string lights.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Pipes Canyon Homestead has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with additional sleeping arrangements for groups of up to six guests.

The primary bedroom features a king-size bed, warm wood furnishings, and inviting, understated decor. Its private ensuite bathroom includes a distinctive clawfoot bathtub, offering a relaxing place to unwind at the end of the day.

The second bedroom offers a queen-size bed and its own ensuite bathroom, giving guests a separate space to settle in and enjoy their own routine.

For families or groups needing additional beds, two portable twin pull-out beds can be moved into the living area. The home also has a couch for relaxing, providing flexible shared space while keeping both bedrooms private.

Together, the homestead's comfortable interiors, outdoor gathering areas, and remarkable canyon setting create a stay that feels personal, relaxed, and closely connected to the desert around it.

Relaxing desert getaway

Perfect location to get away from the city. The house and view are beautiful and it had all the amenities we were looking for to have a peaceful vacation—even with kids! They had their own separate room and bathroom, and the home is cozy and comfortable, with impeccable attention to detail.
