Spacious family chalet 200m from Lake Bohinj

Tucked away along the banks of the crystal clear Sava Bohinjka river just a stone's throw from breathtaking Lake Bohinj, in the charming little alpine village of Ribčev Laz, you'll find our cozy home away from home. We hope you'll love it as much as we do!

With its spectacular location within Triglav National Park in Slovenia’s Julian Alps, our chalet sits nestled in a tranquil little grove of holiday homes an easy stroll along the river to Lake Bohinj. Hidden away from the tourist traffic, with no cars near the house, it’s a perfect place for kids and adults alike to relax, explore and play!

At the same time, you're only a short distance from everything you need to turn your active holiday into the experience of a lifetime: fill yourself on local Slovenian trout; jump in crystal-clear waters; get yourself up a sheer rock face; work your thighs on limitless bike trails; get paddling on a canoe, kayak or SUP, and more – all just a 2-minute walk away.

From the center of Ribčev Laz, you can enjoy the spectacular lake view from the stone bridge, visit the church of St. John the Baptist, take the tourist boat across the lake to Ukanc or set off for a walk around Lake Bohinj. This is also where you can rent bikes, canoes, kayaks, SUPs, rowboats and plan all your activities. The tourist info center will fill you in on everything there is to do in this amazing area.

It's also where you'll also find lively outdoor restaurants and cafes serving delicious local dishes, locally-caught trout, pizza and more. One of our personal favorites is Foksner, where you can enjoy out-of-this-world burgers and a large selection of Slovenia's tasty craft beers on the terrace. There's also a small supermarket, post office and a bank machine.

The chalet spreads across two floors. On the ground floor, a large open-plan living area opens onto a terrace, where we like to enjoy Slovenian delicacies and drinks at the large wooden picnic table. The lounge area has a large, plush corner sofa perfect for crashing out on after an active day in the mountains. The dining area has a large table and chairs to seat up to eight. And a comfy carpet with bean bags make a great play area for kids.

The kitchen offers plenty of counter space and comes equipped with an oven, electric stove, dishwasher, microwave and a utility room with a large fridge and washer/dryer.

There is also a bathroom with a bath, a toilet, a sink and storage space.

Upstairs, you’ll find the large master bedroom, which boasts high ceilings with exposed beams and opens onto a wooden balcony with a small table and chairs. The bedroom comes furnished with a king-sized bed, wardrobes and plenty of space for a baby bed, which we can make available for you.

Down the hall are another double bedroom, with a king-sized bed, and a twin bedroom, with two single beds, each furnished with a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.

There is also a second bathroom with a shower, a toilet, a sink and storage space.
