With pristine golden sands stretching as far as the eye can see, Gippsland’s 90 Mile Beach which separates the Gippsland Lakes (the largest inland water system in the Southern Hemisphere) from Bass Strait on Victoria’s south east coastline, is the third longest uninterrupted stretch of beach in the world.
Less than 300m from this stunning beach is ‘Peace of Paradise’ – a holiday home ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of a busy life with a quiet beach holiday in a small, sleepy town approximately 245 km east of Melbourne - Paradise Beach.
The owners of Paradise Beach’s ‘Peace of Paradise’, a pet-friendly 2 bedroom holiday home are sharing their holiday home with like-minded holiday makers searching for a remote and secluded getaway.
Sleeping up to 6 guests this home has one queen bed, a double, and two singles. There are 2 rooms with a built-in robe in each of them for your things. In the first room, there is a double mattress, with a single bed above and a single mattress underneath which can be set up in the bedroom or lounge room to cater to larger groups. Peace of Paradise has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, 4 burner gas stove, large fridge, microwave and cupboards full of appliances so guests can prepare meals, with the option for both indoor and outdoor dining.
With split system heating and cooling, the compact lounge room has 2 single recliners and a double couch plus a television and DVD player, with a second television in the main bedroom. The bathroom features a half size bath with shower above and vanity and the separate toilet/laundry is accessible via the sun room at the back of the house.
Cook a meal on the 6 burner BBQ or roast marshmallows in the chimenea in the secure pet-friendly back yard or relax on the front verandah taking in the sea breezes and sounds of the ocean. With close proximity to the Gippsland Coastal Park you’ll see wildlife including kangaroos, wombats, koalas and native birds literally on the doorstep!
Paradise Beach with its long slender sand dunes is easily accessible from ‘Peace of Paradise’ via a narrow beach track. This unpatrolled beach is ideal for activities from surf beach fishing, swimming, walking and shell collecting to whale and dolphin spotting or just lazing in the sun – often yours are the only footprints you will see on the sand!
For those looking for a little more action that the beach has to offer, nearby Golden Beach has a 9 hole golf course and lawn bowls club and if fishing’s your thing don’t miss the town’s fishing competitions held on Australia Day and over the Easter long weekend. Explore the remains of the Trinculo shipwreck imbedded in the sands between Golden Beach and Seaspray or spot native flora and fauna who call the 300 hectare Sale Common State Game Refuge home. Long, quiet stretches of roads between Paradise Beach and Seaspray are ideal for cycling and 4WD enthusiasts should research ‘The Ninety Mile Four Wheel Drive,’ a 1 day self-guided tour from Sale to Lochsport.
Due to the remoteness of the town, dining out and shopping options within close proximity are limited.
The closest town to Paradise Beach is another small town, Golden Beach, less than 4km away which has a takeaway food store, a general store which also sells petrol and a café/coffee shop (note hours of operation). NEW Local food menu options are left on the board in the kitchen for you to review.
The Golden Beach Bowls Club at the VMMR (Veronica Maybury Memorial Reserve) serves good quality and reasonably priced meals on a Saturday evening and in the small town of Seaspray, less than 30km away with spectacular ocean views is the Lifesaving Club’s ‘Sandbar & Kitchen,’ (Check availablity due to the season and time you are traveling).
The larger town and former river port of Sale, approximately 40km away is the nearest commercial, shopping and dining precinct. As the Golden Beach general store has limited options and can be quite expensive, my recommendation is to either bring your supplies from home or stock up in Sale en route.
Gippsland’s sun, sand and lush national parks all create for the perfect holiday environment! Explore all that the region has to offer or make it a relaxing break spending your time in the house and at the beach! Short and long getaways are catered for at Peace of Paradise – enquire today!
