About Your Host – Ronell (Cape Town, South Africa)
Hello and welcome. I’m Ronell, born and raised in beautiful Cape Town, and hosting has truly become one of the joys of my life. I’m a mom first, and caring for people comes naturally to me. Whether it’s looking after my own kids or preparing a warm, welcoming space for travellers, I love creating environments where people feel relaxed and looked after.
Before becoming a host, I spent many years cooking as a chef, and food is still one of my biggest passions. My heart lights up when I’m in the kitchen making the dishes our family and friends love most: rich butter chicken, Cape-style curries, potjie meals cooked over wood fire, homemade samosas, and the traditional Cape Malay desserts that always bring people back for seconds. Sharing food has always been my way of showing love, so hosting guests feels like a natural extension of who I am.
I enjoy entertaining, connecting with people, and making sure everyone around me feels at home. I’m also a gentle soul who loves travelling (just not long-distance driving), exploring new places, and learning from others.
As your host, I’m here to make sure your stay feels warm, easy, and memorable. My hope is that you enjoy Cape Town as much as we do, and that you leave feeling a little more rested, a little more inspired, and very much at home.
If there's anything you need, I’m always happy to help.

Why they chose this property
• Plattekloof is one of Cape Town’s most peaceful and family-friendly neighborhoods, set high on the Tygerberg hills with sweeping views of Table Mountain and the ocean. Mornings feel calm and bright, evenings glow with golden light, and the whole area has a warm, relaxed atmosphere that families love.
• What I enjoy most is the balance of privacy and convenience. You get a quiet leafy neighborhood for children to play, yet you’re just minutes from Cape Town’s top attractions — wine farms, beaches, hiking trails, restaurants, and major shopping areas. International travellers appreciate how easy it is to explore the city and return to a home that feels serene and comforting.
• For families, the location is ideal. There are parks, nature paths, strong neighbourly community, and quick access to Panorama Mediclinic and main travel routes. It’s also perfect for longer stays, with everything you need close by and views that make every day feel special.
• Plattekloof has a unique feeling — open skies, fresh air, peaceful streets, and some of the most unforgettable sunsets in Cape Town. It’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the beauty of the Cape in a luxurious, relaxed setting.
