A beautiful log home apartment in the woods. A tranquil, peaceful and private getaway in a safe area. Also handicap accessibility. A short distance from Lake Michigan with spectacular views of the Mackinac Bridge, islands and wildlife. Near Sand Bay, a sandy beach for swimming and kayaking. Many tourist attractions: Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, Sault Locks, forts and museums. I have lived in Saint Ignace all my life - my roots here go back to 1885. My family are some of the first settlers in this quaint city. I LIVE ON SITE. My home is divided with private entrance for visitors. No shared space. Enjoy my beautiful island flower garden with pond and lighthouse and the train garden. Wildlife including deer and even a moose have stopped by for a visit. Truly a tranquil romantic paradise!
For those with allergies - rest assured that there has never been a pet inside the log home apartment. Electric heat, air conditioning and air filtering system. There are no fragrances. Well water and Culligan's reverse osmosis water filtering system. Free and sensitive detergents.

The house was perfect and the property was beautiful. Close to everything we wanted to do. I would definitely stay there again. Mary lynn was wonderful.
The perfect UP getaway! It is close to the ferries to Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge. The views around the property and neighborhood are serene from every angle. Mary was a great host who respected our privacy. The place is attached to her beautiful log cabin home but don’t be mistaken, it is a very cozy and quiet stay.
This was one of the best VRBO experiences we've had - great host, outstanding location, comfortable accommodations. Everything we needed was readily available, the furnishings were comfortable, and Mary Lynn is an excellent host. She left us homemade banana bread and allowed us to use her golf cart to be able to see the shoreline at sunset. We would highly recommend this to our friends, and won't stay anywhere else if we return to the area.
What a fantastic place to stay. Quaint and quiet. Clean with everything you need. It’s close to the bridge, the ferry to the island and Mackinaw City to name just a few. Mary Lynn is a wonderful host and very responsive. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
Our host, Mary Lynn, was awesome!!She actually greeted us upon our arrival, introduced herself, left us something special for our anniversary, kept in contact when needed and came out to us as we were leaving and thanked us for staying. She gave 120%. Definitely will stay with her again.
The location and our stay were great! The host was extremely welcoming and the perfect host! It is close to the beach, and to the St Ignace ferry to Mackinac Island which we preferred over the busier Mackinaw City port. The house was roomy with lots of amenities. The gardens were beautiful in July and it was a very quiet setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Our host was very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived and she was there to greet us. The cabin was very clean and a small loaf of homemade banana bread was waiting to welcome us to our stay. She let us use her golf cart to cruise along the coast and get beautiful pictures of the bridge. The property was gorgeous and well taken care of. Unfortunately we had to cut our vacation short but enjoyed our time while we were up there.
We gifted this trip to my in-laws for their 50th anniversary. They LOVED everything about the trip. The cottage was clean and beautiful. The host was wonderful and made their stay very special.
We arrived to our beautiful rental greeted by a lovely card, banana bread and other treats. The directions for the property and check in were very easy to follow. The area is very peaceful and we were able to take a walk down by the lake and view the bridge. Mary Lynn communicated very well and has the home well stocked and very clean. We love the area, it’s a beautiful property and would highly recommend

About the host
Hosted by Mary Lynn Swiderski
I have lived in beautiful St. Ignace all my life. My ancestors on both parent's side were some of the first settlers here in 1885. I love being surrounded by the water - Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. I am an avid biker, hiker, I love kayaking, boating, fishing and hanging with friends.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is quiet. Only two houses on this private gravel road. I am surrounded by trees and wildlife. Lake Michigan is right around the corner from my lovely log home. It has spectacular views of the Mackinac Bridge, sunsets, water and wildlife.
What makes this property unique
The log home is unique with beautiful gardens in a quiet tranquil wooded area.
