The space was on the top/3rd floor of the building. The view from the porch was impressive. The room itself was spacious. Tom, the owner was very gracious and hospitable. I can’t say enough good things about the owner, the property and the location.
29 Mckown Was perfect for us. The view from the upper porch was awesome and the host Tom supplied us with a list of restaurants with his personal review that was great. Included in the list was some places to see that were also spot on. Thank you, Tom

29 McKown - What's Not to Like?
This property has a truly wonderful location overlooking the Boothbay Harbor, with restaurants, shops, and tours all close by the front door. The landlord Tom and 4-legged companion Ruthie were very friendly and helpful and responsive to all our questions and needs. We had relaxing days and busy days depending on our mood. We boiled live lobsters on two nights and they were great. We would recommend that visitors seek out the Maine State Aquarium on Southport Island and the South Maine Botanical Garden which we found to be special places. We couldn't have selected a property which better suited our needs for this week.

Great location for downtown
Property was very neat and clean and very convenient. Off street parking was a plus, but be ready for 3rd floor walk up to the apartment. We kept the deck doors open every night and never had to use the A/C. House renovation construction across the street was somewhat noisy but only between 8 and 3:30pm. Owner Tom was on site daily and very accessible for questions and recommendations on where to eat and shop. Loved his dog Ruthie!!! The kitchen is small and the stove not easy to cook on, but lots of places to eat all meals within short walking distance. We joined the Boothbay Harbor Country Club for the week and played golf there every day. It is spectacular. Also took our family (maximum 6 people) on a sail on the Sarah Mead, a friendship sloop that leaves from Spruce Point Inn 4 times a day and goes to several lobster traps so the kids can see how lobstering is done. Our grandkids 6 and 10 also loved the Maine Aquarium.
Place was super cute..clean..and within walking distance to everything in Boothbay. Tom was great as well. Definitely recommend this place! Where's my damn pie Tom?!?!? Lol
We can't say enough about our stay in Boothbay! Tom, the owner of our rental, was over-the-top helpful with information regarding things to do, places to visit (or avoid), restaurants to eat at for all three meals, hikes to take and sights to enjoy, even from the view of his balcony. We can not wait to return!
We were in Maine for a wedding. The property location was great for attending the events around town, walking to restaurants, tourist activities, etc. The big plus was the balcony. It looked out over the harbor with great sunrises.
While our trip was cut short because of a problem back home, our time at Tom's was absolutely wonderful. He is very kind and helpful, and his dog Ruthie is a sweetheart. The accomodations are terrific. The location couldn't be better. Clean, and well maintained. Just as advertised, and perfect for the two of us. A lovely private balcony with a picture postcard view. And an off-street parking spot included! Perfect! Thank you Tom. We look forward to returning to 29 Mckown St.
Aerie is a charming apartment located in the top floor of a renovated house. The apartment has been well kept & decorated. The view over Boothbay Harbor cannot be beaten and can be enjoyed from its balcony. Would certainly return in the future.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this apartment in an idyllic setting on the harbor. The balcony with access from both the living room and bedroom was particularly enjoyable - a pleasant perch overlooking the harbor and town goings-on. Tom was very forthcoming with suggestions on local and surrounding activities and especially good restaurants!

Great view, great people, great apartment
Our time in Boothbay was perfect. Tom, our host, was responsive to needs, offered excellent advise with regard to sightseeing, food, and local customs etc. The apartment was very clean and had all that we needed to make our stay wonderful. The Boothbay region is a must visit for anyone who enjoys the coast, history, good shopping, excellent food and a place where one can relax. Out of 5 stars we give it a 5 1/2. Thanks for everything. Absolutely fantastic location and host!!
Third floor apartment in lovely vintage home. Small balcony overlooking the bay! Everything in walking distance. Just beautiful and not enough time to do everything. Tom was great host with pages of suggestions, and his darling Westie, Ruthie, makes u feel welcome. Highly recommend this venue.

Just live going to grandmother's.
The apartment was just what we expected and wanted. Lots of room, well appointed, just a door step away from food and fun. Good beds and our own parking slot. We had a great relaxing week visiting with relatives and chasing light houses. Will stay again when we are in the area.

Above It All
My husband and I had been looking forward to our first trip to Maine for a long time. We were not disappointed. We like to rent with VRBO, and this experience was a good one. We stayed in the third floor apartment. The stairs were a bit tiring, but we needed the exercise and the view from the top is amazing. If I had done nothing more than sit on the balcony and gaze at the harbor, the trip would have been a success. The owner Tom greeted us cheerfully shortly after we arrived and gave us many helpful hints to make the most of our stay. It is so nice to have the advice of a local. The apartment itself is very clean and roomy. We only ran the air conditioner a short while. We slept with the doors open and drank in the ocean breezes. It was quite comfortable. Amazingly, there was little noise overnight even though we were right in the center of town. The sun comes up early in Boothbay Harbor, so be prepared to be an early riser. You will want to get up and get started on the many things to do and see in the area. My favorite thing was the sailboat ride. We just walked across the street and booked the ride as well as a trip to Cabbage Island for a lobster bake. We enjoyed shopping and browsing the Boothbay Harbor shops and eating in the local restaurants. The library was across the street and hosted a local arts and crafts fair as well. We visited the botanical gardens which were lovely. We drove to nearby sites such as L. L. Bean and Bar Harbor. There was so much to see and do in this state that we wished we could have stayed much longer. The only thing we did not enjoy was the whale watching/puffin excursion. It was too expensive for just brief glimpses of whales and tiny puffins flying in the distance. Plus, the boat goes far out in international waters which were choppy and made many people on the boat sick. We would highly recommend BoothBay Harbor and this property to anyone who wants to have a genuine Maine experience. The only drawbacks to the property were minor ones. Get ready to sleep in twin beds if you are a couple, and be prepared to wear wrinkled clothes. Even though the description says iron and board, there is none. There is a washer and dryer on site with detergent; this was quite helpful since there were only two towels to use all week. I want to end this review by saying a big thank you to Tom for being such a friendly and nice person. It was so nice meeting him and listening to his accent. Thanks!

Perfect spot to stay
If you've never been to Boothbay Harbor - and are traveling alone or with close family or friend - this is the perfect spot to stay. You'll be in town but close enough to the water to enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine out on the balcony and drink in the view!
There are stairs to navigate but they also mean you have great cross breezes at night. The landlord is helpful, full of local information, and willing to advise.
A full kitchen means you can boil your own lobster for dinner, make breakfast before you head out for the day, or pop up for lunch if you aren't in the mood for one of the great restaraurants nearby. Additionally, you can make what you want to take along for walking the nearby nature preserves or kayaking the estuaries.
You will not regret choosing this spot while in BBH.

Perfect Place to Stay in Boothbay Harbor
Our stay was wonderful. The view from the balcony is a delight, made even more so when, on a lovely summer morning, one shares it with a companion, coffee in hand. The apartment is perfectly located, close to the many local restaurants and shops. Our very helpful and generous host's restaurant suggestions proved excellent. He also described a number of activities that our short stay would not permit, so we are planning to visit again. We highly recommend this rental.

Our home away in Boothbay Harbor
De eigen parkeerplaats was luxe
