****WHAT PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY****
"We had an absolutely lovely long-weekend at our little mountain cabin! It is wonderfully outfitted with everything you'll need and feels remote in spite of the ease of access, even if there was snow on the ground. This is a definite "stay again" place and the mgmt company was excellent and proactive. Thanks!" - Jim
"The cabin is a fairly new built so finishes and furniture are barely used, which are great. Kitchen is very well equipped and cookware is in great quality. Supplies are thoughtful and plentiful. Sleeping loft is as described - very low ceiling and steep ladder, but it has enough area and the bed is very comfortable, we didn't mind the unique space. We had a great stay and our pups enjoyed it as well." - Mary Kay
""My son and I enjoyed our stay! He made use of the RV hook up. We were there to look at land to purchase. The location was perfect for that and so close to the 11 mile reservoir. Which was so gorgeous!
I had everything I needed. The sheets were soft and comfortable. Though it is a tiny home, it feels spacious; it has a full-size refrigerator and stove and even a dishwasher. The bathroom was nice and the shower was spa like.
I enjoyed sitting on the front porch and reveling in the views!" - Rennie

THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE BOOKING. PLEASE READ:
The loft is accessed by a steep/narrow staircase with a weight limit of 300 lbs and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. The ceiling in the loft is low but accessible by most.
We are pet friendly, but please be sure to clean up after them before you leave to avoid additional charges.
The cabin is located off a short a gravel/dirt road. 4WD/AWD IS MANDATORY during winter months and muddy conditions, though most vehicles do fine in spring/summer.
PLEASE BE SURE TO PLAN MEALS/DRINKS/FOOD AHEAD for your trip similar to how you would if you were going camping. Because we are located in a beautiful and remote valley, there is very limited availability for groceries and/or restaurants unless you feel like making an additional trip 20-30 mins away from the cabin.
***There IS a general store at the base of the hill just 2-3 mins away for basic needs like water, drinks, beer, and snacks, but that's about all that is close by. Hours can vary based on the season.***
=====
TYPICAL WINTER WEATHER:
While snowfall is possible from September to May, guests should be prepared for the possibility of extreme conditions when visiting from the beginning of December to the end of March. If you're considering booking during this timeframe, read on for details of what you need to be prepared for.
When visiting in the winter, guests should be prepared for the possibility of snowfall and extremely cold temperatures. In addition, Eleven Mile Village (where the cabin is located) is known for *very* high winds during these months which can make it all but impossible to be outside for any length of time. While many days during this timeframe are still quite enjoyable weather-wise, do not book the cabin during these months unless you are up for the challenge of conquering the worst the Rocky Mountains can throw at you.
DRIVING:
The aforementioned high winds and extreme temperatures can make driving a challenge during these months. Guests are advised to use vehicles with AWD or 4WD, snow tires and/or chains, and should plan to bring emergency provisions such as blankets, energy snacks, water, flashlights, and a shovel in case they are stranded in their vehicle en route. Although we've never had any guests experience this personally, it is a potential occurrence we strongly advise guests to be aware of during winter travel.
PROVISIONS:
We advise guests to bring all the food they are going to need with them since the nearest grocery store is 30 minutes away in good driving conditions. When visiting during winter months, however, we urge guests to bring extra food and provisions in case roads shut down due to extreme weather and a trip to the grocery store to resupply becomes impossible.
