Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy
First a couple of positives, the house was in a nice, quiet subdivision. The owner has someone nearby to respond to problems. The house appeared to be as clean as possible. The kitchen was fairly well stocked, but the coffee pot leaked.However, the house was neither cozy nor beautiful as described by the owner. When we first walked in the door, the house smelled like a musty basement. The carpeting was old and stained. The air conditioning did not work well. One part of the house could be warm while another part was very cold. Our stay was in June with outside temperatures in the 80s. The baseboard heating system in the living and dining rooms often but out hot air making it very uncomfortable to be in either room. When, I contacted the host, she sent her helper over, but he had now idea how to fix the problem. One of the bedrooms was on the cold side of the house while two other bedrooms were often too warm to sleep in. One of the worst things was the downstairs (basement) bedroom. It was very dark, water dripped from the ceiling, and the only exit was to climb the stairs to the main floor.I would not stay in this house again. It needs major repairs and renovations. The reason I did not call VRBO and ask for another house is that we were there to participate in a triathlon and it would have been a major inconvenience to move all of our gear. This home should not be offered by VRBO. It was a great disappointment and leaves me with an uneasy feeling about using VRBO again.
