We love the house, the patio and the neighborhood. This year tried the Calavera hiking trails. Hope to do more of the loops next year. Managed to hit all of our favorite eateries as well!
Look forward to the trip each year and we know exactly what to expect when we get there. A quiet neighborhood right in the center of all the places we like to visit in Oceanside, Carlsbad, and the village. We visited some new eateries and hit all the old favorites. Just sitting in the sun is also a high point.
Thanks for being wonderful guests! We hope to see you again.

Great Home in a Nice Quiet Neighborhood.
This property was great! We were just in the right location. Not far to beaches and shopping, and as close to San Diego as we wanted to be. It's on a quiet street in a
nice neighborhood and perfect for our vacation to the San Diego area. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were a nice size. Kitchen is well stocked and there was plenty of room at the table for our family. I probably would have given it 5 stars except we had no internet service all the time we were there and some of the the backyard furniture could use replacing. Rebecca was great to work with and very responsive.

Hi Gordon, It was great meeting you and your family! Thank you for all your kind words. I just wanted to let you know the internet is now working and Time Warner were able to determine the problem was on their end. Come back and see us anytime, we loved having you as our guest.
My family and I had such a memorable summer at this property. The property manager was top notch and was phenomenal to work with from beginning to end. She made everything so easy for us. The property itself was beautiful and very well maintained. The neighborhood was wonderful and we were even invited to attend some celebrations within the community. The house was spacious and extremely well stocked to have our every need met. Not one complaint except I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Looking forward to our return. If you are looking for a rental that is close to the beach and within minutes from great restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores this is the house for you. Highly recommended!!!!

Property Needs TLC
Even though we paid for 2+ months we moved out after 30 days. The house is in a lovely neighborhood but it needs some attention and updating. The backyard backs to a very busy road so there is constant noise and the AC seems to work sporadically. Inside and out the home is crowded with too much furniture. The spa is so old that the inside surface is rough and it constantly leaks water to the point that mold is growing on the ground. The garage and one room are inaccessible. Maybe a good option for large parties on a budget.
We stayed at Jesse’s property for a month. The house is nice and cosy. The rooms are average in size and the master bedroom has plenty of room. There is no access to the garage and no access to the room downstairs but we knew that was the case before renting the property. The kitchen has all the needed utilities. The Neighbors are a little noisy as they had a party while we were there although they came in and informed us that day that they will be having music. The area is very pleasant to walk around. The property manager was very responsive and overall I would recommend this place for anyone that is looking for a good price and a good house
In a quiet neighborhood with easy access to all the places we enjoy visiting in Carlsbad, Oceanside, and the village. We loved the patio and spent all of our down time out there. As previous reviews mentioned, there is a lot of extra “stuff” in the house but we found it very comfortable.
The family utilized the property for a few months while our house is being built - overall great stay and experience. Jesse, the manager, is prompt with instructions and replies. The backyard is great for entertaining.
As with most rentals, there are a few restrictions. Noted: no access to garage (seems normal). No access to downstairs 4th bedroom. No access to all closets (seems normal). The house is stocked well with kitchen appliances. Wi-Fi is weak and troublesome in most areas of the house. The house is loaded with furninture - literally, every corner has something in it. All the closets are loaded with games, books, host personal items, etc.
The neighborhood is quiet and amazing. The overall rating of the stay was great! The house was a great spot to creat memories through the holidays (fireplace was used every day). Utilities are included in your stay.
It's a good spacious property that could be great with a bit of maintenance. We had maintenance issues, but luckily the property manager was all over it. Thank you Jesse.
There is a bit of deferred maintenance, but nothing that should impact your stay.
They should definitely replace the beds and add more kitchen items for those who cook and keep left overs. The back yard is a great place to hang out and the home is roughly 12 minutes from the beach.
BBQ could use some new burners and a light so you can see what your cooking.
There is a lot of the owners clutter that could be removed and the place definitely needs a good cleaning. It's not a by the book hotel, so if you have an issue or something is missing or not working, you better hope they have a good property manager. Apparently vrbo has no oversite with what should be in the property nor do they have leverage with the owner.
It's a risk, but this was a good place to be for 30 days.

Unclean, dusty, cluttered
We found the place to be unclean, dusty and cluttered. Food residue stuck to end tables, used bandages in the sofa, used ear plugs left under the bed, grease and oil buildup over the range, dust everywhere, stains on the furniture, rugs and carpet (which badly needs to be shampooed), etc.
We provided a list of issues to the manager who sent the same cleaning person and they predictably did not clean the place satisfactorily. We then provided more than 20 photos to the manger demonstrating the overall lack of attention to detail. No further action was taken by the manager. We later had an issue with a clogged drain. A new manager had been assigned to the property. They sent a plumber who assured them it was fixed; it was not fixed. We offered to provide photos and video proving otherwise but the manager didn’t accept them. We decided to leave before our reservation was complete because we were so terribly uncomfortable and the management didn’t seem interested in making the necessary accommodations.
The owner/managers should reconsider provid g this home for rental until they can make it cleaner, leas dusty and less disgusting.

We're sorry you had this experience. We have changed to a local property manager to make sure something like this won't happen again. We have always had a professional cleaning crew come in before and after each guests stay. We also do a walkthrough to verify the house is ready. We have had handy men, plumbers, and carpet and window cleaners come in as well to fix/clean any problems. We are quick to respond to any issues that may arise to make each guest’s stay in our home a special experience.
We truly enjoyed our stay on Meadow. Excellent family neighborhood. The home is near a cul-de-sac, which is nice. Property manager was always quick to respond. (We extended our stay several times!) The home itself is in great shape. Nice spa, outdoor grill. Kitchen was very nice.
We enjoy this property—4th year here. Unfortunately we left two weeks early due to Covid-19. We heard from Home Away that we may get some refunds. How does that happen?
We are a military family and stayed here for 6 weeks while in between switching duty stations.
We loved this place! We have lived in Carlsbad for about 5 years and love the city, but have never been in Calavera Hills area. It is such a great spot. Not far from the beach and lots of shopping & restaurants nearby.
The neighbors are very nice and they invited us to their annual 4th of July block party. Other than the party, it’s a pretty quiet & peaceful neighborhood.
Highly recommend staying here, we’ll definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity. Lots of space, nicely decorated and has pretty much everything you need. Backyard is so nice as well.
Two thumbs up!

Lovely neighborhood and home in Carlsbad
We stayed in this residential home February 2017 for 4 weeks.
THINGS WE LIKED:
1) This property is in a cul-de-sac
2) Laundry room is big and located on same floor as all bedrooms
3) Backyard patio, hot tub, grill, and fire pit
4) Roomy house with space to spread out
5) Neighborhood pool a few streets away
6) Friendly neighbors
IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS PROPERTY, NOTE:
1) The garage and several closets are locked off.
2) The decor is a bit of a 1980's flashback.
3) Extra furnishings may make some rooms feel a little crowded.
IF I COULD SUGGEST IMPROVEMENTS:
1) Upgrade the mattresses or add toppers. 3 of the 4 beds are very firm, even firmer than my husband could stand and my 8yo can usually sleep on. The property manager said no one ever complained about the mattresses, but it is likely most people feel shy about mentioning it. (We ended up buying a memory foam mattress topper to get through the month.)
2) Reduce furnishings in each room by 1/4. This is a beautiful and airy home, but the extra end tables, dining chairs, flowers, tabletop decor, etc. made some rooms feel crowded.
3) Reduce contents in the guest room closets. We moved lots of books and games to make room for suitcases.
4) Troubleshoot why the thermostat takes 4 hours to register its target temperature. It made the bedroom temperatures uncomfortable by mid-morning (3am or so). Guests are not paying for utilities, but I would want this resolved as a homeowner.
OVERALL
This is a great property in a pretty neighborhood with ideal proximity to stores, parks, and water. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. We would consider staying here again, being prepared for the beds and the space concerns.

Great location, great property
Our family of 5 adults and 2 children enjoyed this well appointed home and found everything well maintained. Our purpose was to visit with our son & family and we were able to spend time at the house as well as visiting Legoland, Zoo and beaches. The yard looked incredible yet we were not able to use it due to our plans and the one open day, it rained. Working with Rebecca was great, she took care of everything and helped make our trip the best.
One thing I would mention is the home was advertised with beds King, Queen, Double yet we found 2 Kings and a trundle. All worked out yet others might want to know in advance.
We definitely look forward to coming back

Perfect choice!
We reviewed several properties and were very surprised at how beautiful the house was when we arrived. The pictures are nice, but seeing it in person was even better. Great neighborhood, good location. We had 6 adults and one 2 year old and were very comfortable. The backyard was wonderful with the hot tub and the grill. I highly recommend this property. And Rebecca was wonderful too!
