Tucked away on a private road, our charming two-bedroom cottage is your ticket to a tranquil northern MI adventure. Thankfully, we were not impacted by the April 2026 floods.

*the state's best ORV, dirt bike, and 4-wheeler trails, including Black Mountain scramble area

"Bear Den" is the quintessential up-north experience, and only 45 minutes from Mackinac Island

This is our family cottage, and we're excited to make it available to guests coming up to the Black Mountain recreation area!

Extremely private - no other homes can be seen from the property. The cottage is close to the lake, but not lakefront.

960 square feet with kitchen, full bath, and laundry. Large covered front porch and rear back patio. Large fire pit area. Lots of hammock-ready trees.

Total of 2 bedrooms. 1 king bedroom. Second room has a bunk bed with a twin upper, full lower, and twin trundle. The cottage can comfortably fit 4 adults, or 2 adults and 3-4 kids, between the two bedrooms. There is also a queen air mattress that can be used in the living room.

Strip any used beds, gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Gather all used towels or rags and start a load of laundry. Pop the detergent pod directly in the drum, rather than the detergent drawer.
Place any and all trash in trash bags. Take trash out and place it in the black garbage can at end of driveway.
1. Wash, rinse, and dry dishes. 2. Close all blinds. 3. Lock up when exiting

This is a gem in the middle of a tranquil wood. A simple, but comfortable abode,this cottage had everything we needed for a perfect, relaxing weekend. Secluded enough to be private, but conveniently located for easy trips to nearby Cheboygan, Mackinaw, and surrounding beaches.The home itself is clean and sound. Appliances are newer and fully functional. Basic kitchen necessities are available for home cooking if desired. Strong Wi-Fi is provided and reliable.Towels and bed sheets were so soft and fresh. The attention to comforts are clear.One thing I might suggest is a grab-bar outside of the shower. The tub is deep, and the step out can be a bit precarious for those of us on the older and/or shorter side.Definitely a 5-star location and host. Thank you for offering this property for use.
