You now have over a 100 miles of hiking trails available to you in Leelanau county from 30 feet to 30 minutes away. And this does not include the 38 miles of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore shoreline that is also available to hike as well.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is also a recognized dark sky park offering some of the best star gazing and Northern Light shows in Michigan. All photos of the Northern Lights on this page were taken from Good Harbor beach. The 2 weeks surrounding a New Moon are the best times to see them if you're considering chasing them. All photos were taking 1-2 hours after sunset.

If pedaling is your thing, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Heritage Trail parking is located at Bohemian rd, about five minutes away. If you're looking for more challenging terrain, Palmer Woods is 10 min away and provides 24 miles of Mountain biking trails. If you happen to enjoy vino, there are over 25+ different beautiful properties to experience live music, food, local wine and cider within minutes. And if you happen to enjoy both, your in luck! The Leelanau TART trail is only 20 minutes away and spans from Suttons Bay to Traverse City while crossing a variety of wine, cider, micro brew and food establishments. Most with stunning views of the rolling country side or Suttons Bay and beyond into Lake Michigan.

After you enjoy your adventures in the surrounding area, you can relax at this quiet, comfortable, freshly developed property with 2 bedrooms and an open living-dining floor plan looking out into the the peaceful woods and field beyond. There is a fully stocked kitchen with a large 72x36 butcher block island for preparing meals or coming together for drinks & snacks. A 55" TV & Wifi should keep you well connected and you have access to the stacked washer and dryer if needed. The bathroom features an easy to enter stand up tile shower and plenty of lighting. The king bed can be split into (2) singles if needed. Please let us know at time of booking otherwise it will stay as a king. Each room has its own remote control and mini-split for 3 separate climate zones.

The back yard looks out into the park and over Little Traverse lake while providing a grill, table w/umbrella and chairs to relax and get out of the sun.

We love our pets and they are always welcome but we also know what its like to keep things clean when they are around so there is a $50 pet cleaning fee for the extra work involved. Please use the dog run and pick up after each deposit and keep your pet on a leash any time they are not hooked up to the dog run. If your furry friend likes to cuddle up on the couch, please make sure use the couch cover we provide. Please do not leave your pet alone for any amount of time if they are anxious or barkers. There are local dog resorts and sitters available, to include us, schedule permitting. We are pet owners and also provide pet walking and sitting services and live a mile away.

While this is a very quiet, natural setting looking off into the National Park, it is situated in a country neighborhood with dogs, cats, families and children. Please drive slowly and use caution when traveling to and from property and the neighborhood entrance. Also please respect my neighbors by sticking to quiet hours from dusk to dawn.

Whatever brings you to this wonderful place we call Leelanau county, we look forward to providing you clean, quiet, comfortable setting to recharge your batteries before your next adventure!

The unit was fine except for one major problem. The listing clearly indicated that there was an outdoor fire pit. This was a primary criteria for us to choose this property. After checked in I asked the host exactly where to make the fire because there was no obvious fire pit. They responded that no fires were allowed and that they had "started the process" of getting a fire pit but hadn't finished it. This was a significant disappointment for my family and we would not have booked the property without it. At that time, they had let the false listing description remain for roughly 6 weeks following the date I booked. After they told me that no fires were allowed they finally changed the listing to no longer include the lie about the fire pit. Very disappointing especially at this price point. No explanation was given for why there was no fire pit. Hard to imagine why a couple hundred bucks wasn't spent on a Solo or similar pre-manufactured place to have fires.

We are very sorry that we could not get the fire pit installed in time for the season and I deeply regret not changing the description sooner as that was on me. A simple task that I was reminded to do, and still did not get done and for that mistake, I can’t apologize enough. The main issue was safety. We had a very dry spring and without an outside water spigot & hose, we just did not feel comfortable if an ember drifted into the National park, which is only 15’ away from the proposed location for the fire pit. Being 900’ above M22 produces a lot of wind up there as well, which is even a bigger concern considering how quickly something could escalate. We scheduled a plumber prior to the start of the season and they never showed and we could not get another to take on such a small job this time of year. When they failed to show, that was my opportunity to remove the listing info about the fire pit and I was not on top of this. It was never our intention to mislead anyone. In the interim, we have suggested to all guests that are interested in a fire to have one at Good Harbor beach 4 min away. Since Good Harbor is considered National Park property, they actually allow fires on the beach, where the rest of the state of Michigan does not. Making this a unique experience. We still intend on having the spigot installed towards the end of the season as this will allow us to finish the yard with grass and have the hose ready for the fire pit for future guests.

I was lucky to have spent my career in the recreational vehicle business and to have also been a landlord for the past 23 years for our family home. I now get to combine both of those skillsets: to provide the perfect place to stay that is central and close to everything in the most beautiful county in the state of Michigan, and to share all the recreational opportunities that I have discovered while living in this incredibly place. No wonder they made it a National Park.

Why they chose this property

A country neighborhood is a rare find in Leelanau county, especially when the property backs up to the National park. Best of both worlds IMO. No cars racing down a country road so walking and walking dogs is safe. And my favorite part is the beach is 4 min away!
