LOCATION, LOCATION – the best way to enjoy your stay is in a 3rd (top) floor beachfront condo like Building B at the Pono Kai Resort. Leave the lanai curtains open and enjoy the sound of waves on the beach, feel the trade wind breeze, and watch the sun rise each morning. Our condo faces east and outsiders cannot observe the occupants. Unit is accessible by stairs or elevator. The Pono Kai Resort is located in the town of Kapaa on 13 tropical acres. This family oriented resort has many daily activities and complimentary equipment for all, including: outdoor Jacuzzi, large pool, indoor sauna, multiple propane barbecues, picnic tables, tennis court, volleyball court, shuffleboard, putting green, bocce ball, ping pong, and croquet court. Feed the fish in the Japanese Koi pond. Take a short walk to 'Baby Beach', a protected ocean pool for toddlers to enjoy the ocean. Our condo features free WiFi internet access, two TV's, CD & DVD players, music & video library. Our kitchen is well equipped. If you like to cook, you'll be happy. PARKING IS FREE.

2025 UPDATE: Pool and hot tub area will be closed for remodeling for approximately 3 months during Sep, Oct, and Nov.

A new popular 8-mile oceanfront path is a wonderful place to walk, jog or bike. The Pono Kai Resort is within walking distance of supermarkets, drug stores, banks and a variety of restaurants. Because of this, some guests rent a car for only one week during their multi week stays.

NOTE: Best ocean view. Fully equipped kitchen. Quality portable beach chairs and ice chests. Condo has not been remodeled. Pictures are accurate, but no recessed lighting or wide screen TV. No A/C but good trade winds. Not recommended If you are heat sensitive. Our queen size bed is a soft pillow top. $205/night INCLUDES ALL TAXES, our pre-tax rate is only $174. $150 housekeeping fee for cleanup after departure. $300 fee required for stays of 21 nights or more - housekeeping performed at mid-stay and after departure.

Why they chose this property

We rented this condo from the prior owners for over 15 years. It's the best condo in the best location. We like the people of Kapaa and always feel right at home. Kapaa is only 7.6 miles from the Lihue Airport and is located mid way between Poipu and Princeville, which are on opposite ends of the main highway.

What makes this property unique

Our east facing condo is only a stone's throw from the beach. Because it's on the 3rd floor, the unobstructed view from the living room is of the ocean and the tops of a few palm trees. We never close the curtains because we're too high for anyone to see in. We enjoy watching the sunrise and feeling the trade winds. We're away from the general foot traffic. Few people use the 8 mile bike path or beach near the condo. If you don't like crowds, this is the place. Well equipped kitchen. All necessary dishes, glasses and utensils. Many pots, pans and appliances including blender, Belgian waffle maker and George Foreman grill.
