2025 UPDATE: SPECIAL! The dates of 9/3-9/24 have been discounted due to the closing of the pool area for renovations. The SPECIAL rate will be $180 + 17.962% + $185 one-time cleaning. The standard nightly rate is $280 + 17.962% + $185 one-time cleaning fee.
Enjoy the comfort of our oceanfront remodeled one-bedroom, one bath condominium. Imagine being 75 steps away from the Pacific Ocean on the east shore of Kauai in the historical town of Kapa'a. From your private lanai with incredible views of the ocean, you can watch the sunrises and listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean.
Our condo is a corner unit on the 2nd floor that has been completely remodeled. The condo has a sliding glass door leading our to our oceanfront lanai. There also is a window in the eating area which allows for great cross ventilation. Custom-made cherry cabinets and granite counter tops have been installed in our fully equipped kitchen & bathroom. Porcelain tiles grace the entry, bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom has a large tiled walk-in shower with a corner seat.
The condo comes with all the amenities listed above. Added amenities include a Fijitsu A/C mini-split system in the living area & bedroom, FREE SECURE WiFi internet connection, a 40" smart HD TV in the living room & a 32" smart HD TV in the bedroom (both with on-demand), beach toys, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boogie boards, and tennis rackets for your use during your staying at our condominium.
The Pono Kai Resort is a non-smoking property. The resort provides a front desk that is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There is onsite free parking. Each building has a coin-operated laundry facility and an elevator. The grounds are beautifully maintained with extensive grass areas, an herb garden so you can pick fresh herbs for your meals and a Koi pond. For your convenience, there is an activities desk so you can arrange for your island adventures. A workout room has also been added. There is a 7-mile multi-use coastal path just steps in front of our condo. There is a pool/spa area and 1 tennis court, 1 pickleball court, ping pong table and many other on-property activities.
Maximum of 3 people. Children 10 and older are welcome.

Why they chose this property
The first time we came to Kauai was in 1971. We toured 4 of the islands and fell in love with the 'Garden Isle'.
We had friends who owned a condo at the Pono Kai Resort. We started renting their unit and spending many of our family vacations on Kauai.
We always hoped one day to buy a little piece of paradise. In 2001, our wish came true.

What makes this property unique
The Pono Kai is centrally located on the east side of the island. This location is great for people who want to explore the island. The resort is conveniently located in the historical town of Kapaa. The condo is in walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The beach and a 5 mile multi-use coastal path is right out front of our condo.
