It is a short jaunt from town, so bring up what you need for dinner and settle into the cozy cottage. The kitchen is small, but it will handle most meals. The Alpaca, Cheech, came up to the fence near the front door to say hi a couple of times. Our stay was quiet, relaxing, and just what was needed for a recharge before the trek further North.

Definitely a cottage! Fun setting. Peaceful and quiet out of the crowds. This rental is set up in the yard of a main home, essentially an on property guest cottage. Make sure you bring food with you or eat before you crash for the night. Closest food stuff was back towards town 10-15 minutes. We used Uber Eats for our meal. Which was fine for us, just wanted to be sure others were aware.

Cute quaint cottage in the yard of host! Had a great time staying with Cheech the alpaca. Perfect area from the city and redwoods. The room was smaller than we thought, but had all the essentials for two people living! Really appreciate the hosts for their hospitality and ready responses to our questions! One issue we had was figuring out where the cottage was on the property and accidentally walked to the host area! Would be great to have more clear check-in instructions. But otherwise, was a smooth stay.

Up a couple miles on a mountain - fresh air retreat and cute little private cottage . Easy 20 min drive to downtown Arcata. Also an easy drive to get breakfast/coffee at the Bayside Farmstead Cafe as well. Host is very kind , accommodating and responsive. Will return to this place Redwood Forest Retreat!
