The Space:

This getaway is conveniently located in the quiet El Prado neighborhood - close to the Rio Grande Gorge's glorious hikes, scenic views, and hot springs. You're five miles to the famed Taos Plaza with galleries and restaurants galore and 15 miles to Taos Ski Valley for world-class skiing, mountaineering, hiking, and mountain biking. Enjoy enchanting northern New Mexico amid picture-perfect mountain views in this house, affectionately known as Casa Allis. Tastefully decorated in southwestern style, this home features a welcoming open floor plan with skylights, gas heating, and beautiful tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms. Take in the expansive views of the mountains and the high desert from the comfort of your private, walled courtyard. Casa Allis is a beautiful getaway for a weekend or longer stays.



The living area is crafted with Saltillo tiled floors and exposed beams. A comfy sofa, a recliner, and two armchairs are available for ample seating. Gather for family movie nights and watch the latest shows on the TV. The well-equipped kitchen features a full suite of appliances and good counter and cabinet space. A coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, blender, and microwave provide added convenience.



The main bedroom boasts an armchair, an office desk, and an en suite bathroom. A guest bedroom has two twin beds that can be converted to a king. The bathrooms are stocked with a complimentary starter supply of toiletries.



Guest amenities include a washer/dryer and complimentary WiFi.



THINGS TO KNOW


  • The fireplace is not operational.
  • Although this home is not equipped with central air-conditioning, it is rarely needed with the mild weather in Taos (elevation 7,000'). Ceiling fans can be found in the living room and both bedrooms. The living room has a portable air-conditioning unit that offers cooling in the common areas for hotter days.


** to keep the house cooler during warm days, close the living room blinds in the morning and the dining room/kitchen blinds in the afternoon. Ceiling fans are also located in every room.

The view of Taos Mountain was wonderful! The mountain got snow while we were there & it was very pretty. The house is in a great location for getting to plaza & getting out of town quickly to head up to the mountains.

Great place in Taos

My family came to Taos for a short vacation and stayed here. Great place to base out of for Northern New Mexico sights. The house was well equipped and even though it didn’t have an air conditioner, the breeze and ceiling fans cooled the place sufficiently.Great communications with the management company. I would stay here again if I’m ever back this way!

Loved the house, was very clean, great location to central Taos and easy to access Taos Ski Valley. This was exactly what we needed for a family ski trip, great master and two additional bedrooms, one big bed for our twin girls to share and another room we used for baby to sleep. Look forward to booking whenever we come back to Toas!!

Beautiful Casa Raya

This small adobe home has been beautifully renovated and taken care of. Very nice furnishings, comfortable beds, and lovingly decorated with beautiful artwork. All the amenities needed if you want to stay in and cook/eat. The casa is close to the Plaza, shopping, dining, and entertainment, and we would have walked if the weather had been nicer. We would stay here again, no question!

Fairly easy access to lots of shopping and restaurants

If we were younger we would have walked to the historic plaza. No big deal to drive the five or so blocks. Nice quiet neighborhood. The back yard and Mountain View is fantastic. Very tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture. I will recommend this place to family & friends.

Hidden Treasure in Taos!

The pictures of this property don’t do it justice. It is truly one of the most beautiful vacation homes we’ve stayed in. A historic treasure with warm toned hardwood floors, beautiful hand painted tile accents in the bathrooms and kitchen, lovely redone antique furnishings throughout and stunning local paintings and decor. The beds were super comfy as well. It was close to shopping and restaurants. Our family of 3 had a wonderful stay.

Weekend Getaway

In town for some late season skiing. Convenient location to town and skiing both Taos and Angel Fire. Beds were very comfortable and neighborhood was quiet. Only drawback was weak wifi but I understand that can be challenging in adobe houses. Thanks again!

Thanksgiving holiday

We spent thanksgiving week(Tuesday-Saturday) in Taos. Weather was beautiful, so we enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible. The house was okay for the 6 of us as we brought a blow-up bed. Some of the cooking utensils and pans could definitely be updated; but outside of that everything was great!!!!

Overall very good. However wi-fi is very spotty and unreliable. Would also suggest later check out time. Noon would be less rushed.
