Welcome to The Salteen House — our family’s Cape Cod getaway in the heart of Orleans.

The name just felt right: a little nod to our own “salty teens” and, of course, the salty Cape air.

After years of searching for the perfect Cape Cod home, we finally found it — close to everything we love about Orleans, with plenty of space for families and friends to relax together. And because a Cape vacation is even better when the whole family can come, we’re dog-friendly, too.

The Best of Both Sides of the Cape

One of our favorite things about The Salteen House is the location. We’re just 3 miles from both Skaket Beach and Nauset Beach, so you don’t have to choose between the two sides of the Cape.

Spend the morning riding the waves at Nauset, then head to Skaket for warm bay water, tidal flats, and one of those incredible Cape Cod sunsets.

Made for Families & Friends

The Salteen House comfortably sleeps up to 10 and works especially well for two families, multi-generational trips, or a Cape getaway with friends.

The spacious second-floor primary suite features a king bed, twin trundle, and private bathroom, creating a comfortable retreat with plenty of space.

Two additional bedrooms and a full bathroom with a tub are located on the first floor — a convenient setup for families traveling with children or grandparents.

Come Home Sandy

After a day at the beach, rinse off in the classic Cape Cod outdoor shower, fire up the grill, have dinner on the deck, and settle in for the evening.

Whether you're here for a full summer vacation, a fall weekend, a spring escape, or just a few days by the ocean, The Salteen House is meant to be a place where you can unpack, slow down, and enjoy the Cape.

Dogs are welcome, so your four-legged family member doesn't have to miss the trip.

Our family of four plus two dogs love the cape! We've been searching for a home to purchase for years. We walked into 6 Hathorne Lane in Orleans and within minutes, we knew we found our forever rental home. Some day, we'd like to retire here.
But with two girls who are still in middle school, renting our home (The Salteen House) is our main priority. And trust me, your gain!

The Salteen House is 3 miles from Skaket and Nauset Beach and only 1.5 miles from Orleans town center.

Because we've rented many homes on the cape, we feel like we know exactly what (most) renters are looking for. Cozy, family friendly, great bed, high end sheets and a lobster pot! Oh, and an outdoor shower!
