The house truly shines when it's lived in and enjoyed! Please make yourselves completely at home - cook in the kitchen, cozy up by the fireplace, and enjoy morning coffee in the garden. We simply ask that you care for it as we do.
The garden and outdoor dining areas are shared with our guest house, and we've found this creates a lovely, respectful community feel.
We've left guides for all the house systems and our favorite local recommendations. The neighborhood is wonderfully walkable - you'll quickly discover why we love Midtown Ventura so much!

About the host
Your host
We're Camille and Taylor, and we've called Ventura home for six years. Before settling here, we spent years living abroad — China, France, Bali — and traveling extensively across the world. After all of that, Ventura is where we chose to put down roots, because it turned out to be something of a Goldilocks city: the right size, the right pace, the right mix of nature and community. Having been hosted in so many places ourselves, we understand what makes the difference between a place you sleep and a place that actually feels welcoming. No matter where we've lived, opening our home to guests, friends, and family has always been something we genuinely enjoy — Vrbo just lets us do that on a larger scale. There's something we find deeply satisfying about helping someone feel at home somewhere that isn't their home. We know Ventura well and are happy to share recommendations for the spots locals actually go to. As hosts, we aim to be available when you need us and completely out of your way when you don't.
Why they chose this property
Midtown Ventura is one of those neighborhoods that feels like a real place — walkable, unpretentious, and full of character. You're a short walk from Main Street's independent restaurants and shops, close to the beach, and surrounded by the kind of tree-lined streets and older homes that don't exist everywhere anymore. It's quiet enough to sleep well and central enough to get anywhere you want to go without a car.
What makes this property unique
The house was built in 1929 and still has its original Spanish stucco character — the kind of craftsmanship and detail that newer construction doesn't replicate. The enclosed garden is a genuine retreat, with shaded seating, a pergola dining area, and enough greenery to make you forget you're in the middle of a city. It's a home that has been lived in and cared for, and that comes through.
