This serene, two-story home sits on four wooded acres just outside small-town Swanville. Built in 1987 and thoughtfully remodeled in recent years, this charming cottage is full of natural light, pine floors, and lofty, open spaces. Enjoy a breezy living room and kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a home office where you can log onto the complimentary WiFi in peace, and a private washer/dryer for your laundry needs. There's one bedroom on each of the two floors, both with high-end (Tempur-Pedic and Casper) mattresses.

The location was great, in the downtown area of Southeast Harbor but only 20 minutes away from Bar Harbor and most of Acadia. It was perfect if you are just looking for a place to sleep, it is small.

As advertised and a Quiet Town
We enjoyed our stay here. Contrasted with the evening noise of Bar Harbor, it was pleasantly quiet. It was close to the national park too, and some of our hiking.
Diamond in the rough location near Acadia National Park (and all major park must-see locations located within 20 min). Location on adorable, quiet Main Street of NE Harbor and directly above a restaurant/bakery--which made morning super convenient.
The unit we stayed it was perfect. The location was also ideal. In the center of Northeast Harbor, right above the Colonel's Restaurant right below, making it great for breakfast and dinner, before and after a day of hiking in Acadia. I will definitely will be coming back.
Exactly as advertised! Right in the main shopping district. The restaurant downstairs had a wonderful bakery. Place was clean, had extra supplies and towels if needed, dishes if you wanted to eat in, although only a microwave. Close to Acadia National Forest and a quick drive to Bar Harbor.

Convenient and centrally located
It was a nice place to stay for a long weekend. I came at the end of the season so a couple of shops were closed but there still plenty of places to visit.
Only concern was that I wasn’t sure what to do with towels and sheets so l left them on the washer.

This property was exactly as listed! Location served us well; we used it as a ‘home base’ to sleep as we explored Mt. Desert, Acadia & Bar Harbor. Very tiny town that had a few places to offer coffee & breakfast. We were above a bakery but were up & out before it opened and ‘home’ after it closed.
Only complaint is the bed and pillow comfort. Definitely could use a more comfortable bed and pillows. Especially after a long day of hiking! The place was clean and had the essentials. We wanted a place that we didn’t want to stick around in because we wanted to be out hiking and taking in the area. We utilized this as our base camp. We ate at a nearby restaurant, Copita, and that was a phenomenal experience. Our favorite dining experience during our whole stay. It was cool that it was within walking distance. The marina is a short walk away to take in the sunrise.

Worth The Price
The uncrowded town of Northeast Harbor is refreshing. It is quaint, friendly, and beautiful for walking.
The room is a bit hard to find, parking is not clearly marked, nonetheless, we were abme to figure it out in the dark. Back to the room. It is up two/three flights of stairs depending on the entrance. The room is comfortable and clean. It does not have a kitchen. The extra dishes are down the hall, above the shared coin operated washer and dryer. I would stay there again.
Acadia National Park is close and easy to access along with Bar Harbor.

On surface it matched its listing. Pros: Parking was available, easy to access the unit. Location great for getting to locations in Acadia National Park & Mount Desert Island. Washer & dryer helped us pack less for our 9 day trip to Maine. Colonel’s bakery, restaurant & bar below on street level was a nice surprise and had great food. Cons: Only second VRBO experience but I expected there would be toilet paper in the bathroom. Found a wad of hair in the bathroom & didn’t look like it’d been dusted recently. Plumbing in sink made loud noise until you adjusted the handle. No way to stop the sink or tub to catch water. Heating/cooling unit in bedroom worked well but was very loud.

Not Ideal
The room is much much much smaller than it looks. The only view you have is of a shop and a couple dumpsters. Beyond over priced for what it is. Bed is not comfy. Tv doesnt work well. Make sure you bring your own coffee because that is not supplied either. Had a very bad expierience at the breakfast place downstairs. I would not rely on an uber to get to Bar Harbor. And all the resturants close early that are within walking distance of this place.
