Located on a gorgeous 32-acre property, this new-build 2BR/2BA home offers a tranquil oasis with the modern conveniences of home. Experience ultimate relaxation in the six-person barrel sauna, featuring a window with views of the forest and surroundings. The home features incredible custom woodwork, a wall of windows with serene views, an air-conditioning system in the bedroom.

Explore the wooded natural areas around the home. Or you're just an 8-minute drive to Franklin and 20 minutes to Ellsworth. For an amazing day trip, make a visit to Acadia National Park or Bar Harbor. Detailed with vaulted ceilings and a wall of windows, the welcoming living area is a prime spot to gather for movie nights. The immaculate kitchen is equipped with a full suite of stainless steel appliances, ample counter space, and a two-person kitchen island.

The home sleeps six guests between two bedrooms, a queen sofa bed in the living area, and a full-size bed in the loft. Please note that the loft is open to the living area below. The primary suite has a king bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Unwind on the attached screened patio and forest-view balcony. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, while an adjacent bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

Extra perks include complimentary WiFi and a private washer/dryer. The covered outdoor space has a gas grill and a two-person bistro table. Enjoy starlit nights around the wood-burning firepit.

Our hosts were incredibly welcoming--they made sure to have lights on so we could see when arriving in the dark, and as it was over the Thanksgiving holiday, they left us a gingerbread house to assemble (my 11-year-old daughter loved this!). They were responsive and the house was everything we needed for a refresh.

Hilltop cabin

The cabin layout was awesome. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Quiet and very relaxing to return to after a day out running around. We enjoyed the ability to sit outside on the patio and relax and play games inside.

We had our college student we were dropping off for Freshman year at UMAINE. We decided to make a little extended vacation out of it. We were looking for something decompressing & relaxing to take the edge off of our emotions dropping our baby off to the next chapter. This remote cabin in Franklin was perfect! It was located perfectly between Orono & Bar Harbor. We enjoyed family time and visiting the area of Bar Harbor! The cabin was clean, comfortable and sized right! I had a few questions and was answered promptly. I highly recommend!

Perfect new cabin near Acadia!

This cabin was awesome-so perfectly furnished and charming in every way. We were close enough to go hiking every day in Acadia, but had such an amazing and comfortable (and affordable) place to come back to afterward! Stargazing and fire pit were so great. Pantry was stocked with complimentary snacks, too. All in all a great stay and we’d definitely come back.

The only sounds we heard were of the winding stream and the wind rustling the leaves on the trees. The home was well-maintained and very clean. Beautiful Secluded Area

The house was situated at the end for a very bumpy dirt road. The outside area is beautiful lots of very large rocks. Hose was very nice lots of unique touches. Beds were comfortable. Internet is very slow, but they have movies to watch.

This vacation rental was wonderful. It was very clean. The rental had every detail available that may need. We were impressed with how quiet the property was. The home was very comfortable. Very nice touch having folding chairs, cooler and small supplies that were needed for our trip. We would recommend for anyone that does not want the hustle of Bar Harbor. Just beautiful! The Lazy Lumberjack Hilltop Cabin is a beautiful, fully functional home, with all the you need to live there minus the food. Very clean and comfortable beds and furniture. The 2 bathrooms are a plus. Heating was great. A gas grill outside was a life saver. Very private and quiet. If you are going to hike at Acadia or just go to Bay Harbor area is a 40 minute drive, very reasonable if you are comparing rates of were to stay. My friends a I were very pleased with the Cabin.

Great place, beautiful scenery, lovely building, quiet and relaxing, if you drive a small car good luck getting up the driveway. There's a leak in the upstairs bath that leaks into the lower bath so if you are using the sink you get dripped on. I text in the issue and found out it's an on going problem. Would have been nice to know ahead of time.Make sure to check all the cooking utensils most were filthy

Wonderful secluded retreat

This cabin was amazing with all the amenities inside and out. The cabin itself is gorgeous and clean with lots of space to spread out and a well appointed kitchen. There is a wonderful stone patio and a fire pit and sauna. We didn't get to enjoy those due to the weather but did enjoy playing games and cooking dinner with a movie playing. There was a selection of DVD's, board games and books for entertainment. Such a peaceful place and an easy drive to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and all the best lobster roll stands. We would definitely stay again if ever back in that area.
