About this property
Peaceful home with forest views & great yard - minutes to town
Enviably situated in the heart of the Midcoast, this serene home in the wooded outskirts of Wiscasset seems to bring the best of Maine to you. In this private, pastoral setting, you'll have a beautiful yard, gorgeous views of the trees, and fantastic access to nearby villages, harbors, beaches, and scenic drives.
This two-story woodland home sits less than three miles north of downtown Wiscasset, a 5 min walk away from the river with dock access and close to Red Eats. A picturesque town on the Sheepscot River with an assortment of cute shops, restaurants, and seafood shacks. It's a great place to relax and stay put but it's also perfect for exploring, with Boothbay Harbor (15 miles), Bath (15 miles), the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse (24 miles), Popham Beach (29 miles), Rockland (36 miles), and Camden (39 miles) all within easy striking distance.
The home's natural setting is beautiful in every season, but it's the long summer days you'll spend outside in the yard. Sip your first cup of coffee among the trees each morning and gather on the patio for afternoon barbecues on the gas grill.
The heart of the house is the lofty living room, where you can flip on the gas fireplace, unwind on the soft sectional, and marvel at the view of the forest through floor-to-ceiling windows. There's a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a dining room for nightly dinners and board games, and a smart TV to stream your favorite movies. A private washer/dryer and complimentary WiFi are provided as well.

Absolutely gorgeous home ! Not sure where they purchased their furniture from but the couch alone was to die for !! Very comfortable very clean ! No complaints .
Great Home, peaceful, in the wooded area. Kitchen could use some more cookware, maybe a crockpot or some larger cooking pots/pans. I like to cook, and I did cook each day we were there. There was a Nespresso machine so we did buy a cheap coffee pot to use because there is nothing like a fresh hot pot of coffee for the 5 of us every day. Beds were great, might I suggest a small TV on the wall in the downstairs bedroom to the left. We played cards and enjoyed walking around the property. I noticed that there are small trees growing in the gutters and there is some heavy weeds growing on the sidewalk and in front of the garage. Looks like the outside needed some TLC, but it was fine. My only complaint for housekeeping was spider webs on the staircase, some of the corners of the house, I think we killed a few, but some were dead. It just needed a good dusting. We would stay here again for sure! Thank you for this wonderful home to stay in!!

Hi Jan, thank you for your review. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback as a means to continually improve our homes for future guests.
We hope to host you for another truly carefree and great vacation in the future!
This home is newly remodeled. The furniture is nice and comfortable and the home is situated on a rural cul de sac. There are neighbors but they aren't close enough to interrupt your solitude. We saw lots of wild life from the back window which was fun. This home is not in town, so if you want to go into Wiscasset you will want to drive. That all being said, here are some concerns. The communication with this host wasn't great. I booked through VRBO but they required me to use Vcasa platform to communicate, which I'm not familiar with. Whenever I reached out to communicate, it took a long time to hear back. The power went out several times during our stay and even though I don't think this was the fault of the host, they pushed everything off on us as the guest to figure out and solve the problem. The water pressure in this house is terrible. If multiple faucets are running at once then you're toast.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the home’s comfort, rural setting, and wildlife views. We apologize for any frustration with communication and power outages. Our team works to assist remotely and ensure issues are addressed safely. We appreciate your comments and will continue looking for ways to improve the guest experience.
It's hard to know where to start. When we were finally able to check in (after 4) following a 6 hour drive, all of the hardwood floors were sopping wet. We asked the cleaning person to dry them to no avail. He just took off. The place advertised "partial" AC and that's not joke. The only room that had AC was the master BR. The upstairs was so hot that we tried opening windows (one had no screen and the other wouldn't stay open). The ceiling fan in the living room didn't work. We texted about the issues and received NO assistance. The garbage cans were full when we checked in and we found out they wouldn't be emptied until Wednesday (we checked in on Friday). The LR had no lighting. They advertised a grill and deck. The grill had a live mouse with a nest in it and it was filthy. The deck was also filthy. There was a bees nest under the front porch and we had 2 people highly allergic. The ice maker/water dispenser on the fridge did not work. No blinds on 1 window in the MBR and the blinds were too narrow in the guest room. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen cabinets. The fire alarm went off at 2 AM for no reason. The towel rack in the Master bath was falling off. There were under cabinet lights that didn't work. We asked specifically before we got there about a lobster pot and were told the unit had plenty. They had NONE! The listing advertises a 5 minute walk to water and dock (NOPE) and games (NOPE).
