About this property
Pine Meadow Hideaway at Acadia's Edge
Your idyllic Maine experience starts here. Our home is tucked away on over 8 acres of evergreen forest and borders Acadia National Park on 2 sides. We are located just 1.5 miles from the village of Southwest Harbor.
This comfortable two-story home has a downstairs bedroom (queen bed) and bathroom that is accessible from the bedroom and the living area (tiled shower and double vanity). There are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs - an ideal set up for families. The first bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a single twin plus a double bed with a twin trundle underneath. The upstairs' bathroom has a tub, great for bathing little ones.
We have a loveseat in the family room that has a new full size pull out sleeper.
Comfortable beds, room darkening curtains and peaceful surroundings means you'll have your best night's sleep.
Each bedroom and the family room has a window Air Conditioner Unit.
As comfy as our home is the highlight of our property is the outdoor living area we added in Spring 2026! This spacious area includes a large wood deck with a new gas grill, a paver patio, and an outdoor dining table that sits under a wood pergola. It is situated on the western side of the home, so you can enjoy Maine's cotton candy colored sunsets.
After a day of adventure, unwind on the spacious deck, whip up dinner on the grill and dine under the pergola. Solar lighting is scattered throughout the area making it a magical setting for relaxing at the end of a fun day.
You will have no problem cooking in our kitchen, well equipped with a dishwasher, over sized refrigerator and gas range. The dining room table sits 6 and can expand to 8 with the attached leaf. Two extra chairs are in the downstairs' bedroom closet.
If you are traveling with small children, we have a stroller, pack and play, and high chair stored in the downstairs' bedroom closet. There are also Magna tiles, children's books, board games and playing cards in the family room.
Our property is secluded without sacrificing proximity to all the island has to offer. Surrounded by pine and spruce forest and bordered by Acadia National Park, you won't be bothered by road noise or neighbors. It is a wonderful place for bird watching, stargazing and taking in Maine's natural beauty.
One of the sweetest features of our property is the freedom it gives children to run and play. Our grandkids have built a "ground house" that your kids can enjoy too.
So we invite you to come explore the island's "quiet side" with uncrowded access to Acadia National Park, the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, the charming village of Southwest Harbor, great restaurants and an authentic working waterfront all close to our home.
Happy Travels!

Tucked away off the road, in a great location on the "quiet side", away from the crowds of Bar Harbor. Easy access as a home base to explore Acadia and all the island has to offer. Had a great time visiting Maine on our family vacation!
The house was spotless and exceedingly quiet. Location less than 30 minutes from anyplace on Mt Dessert Island. We loved having the friendly Gotts Market 3 minutes awayOur host responded promptly and took care of any issue immediately,
Excellent location to access the main areas of Acadia and especially on Southwest Harbor side. The house was a little tricky to find via GPS but instructions to look for Gotts market were helpful. Several rooms have air conditioners, which can be helpful as middle of summer can be warm. Very comfortably furnished!
Beautiful home in a peaceful location a bit back in the woods away from the main road. Daily visit from a local doe and my daughter even saw a fox. Everything was cozy and comfortable. Easy check-in and the home has everything you would need. Bedrooms were comfortable and shower water pressure and heat was great. Strong WiFi signal. And communication with the owner was always quick and easy. Highly recommend!
The house is completely secluded, quite a distance from the road but very close to a gas station and a store, which made it an ideal location for us.The house is very well maintained with all amenities and well stocked. The owner was very responsive and helpful. She would reply within 5 minutes of a message. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend.
The house was tucked away off the road in a large opening surrounded by trees. A few deer would visit daily. There were 4 adults in our party. It was nice to relax in the morning having coffee and siting on the outside deck. There are a couple lobster pounds nearby that are excellent. The town of Bar Harbor is about a 30-minute drive. We would stay there again.
This was the PERFECT spot for my family and I to stay while exchanging vows in Acadia. The host was very easy to communicate with. The house was everything we needed but the best part was the privacy. It’s completely hidden off of the road and no neighbors on top of you. Deer came to visit us every day which elevated the experience. We had my 15 month old son with us and the house was very accommodating for him too. Love that we didn’t have to bring a pack and play or high chair as it was already there! The Southwest Harbor side of the island was the ideal location for us.
